Thats the 6+ gallon tank yes? Sure would be nice to get somthing similar for the monster's. Only getting 150 miles per tank leaves little room for error.

Stopped by one day saw Chris hand polishing the mold for the S4R tank. We talked for about an hour, very knowledgeable guy glad to see him get some press

While very complex, the Hyper tank is not visible so not as much care has to be taken with the finish. The monster tank can be seen. I'd rather not go in to a full explanation because it would be second hand, Chris has all the details. But I now know a lot more about nylon vs. roto-molded plastic than i did before Chris talked to me

Yea, a monster tank exactly the same shape, just taking advantage of the airbox space should be able to give a bunch of extra volume.  But I seem to remember a tank for the monster that yielded an extra .5 gal. or something like that.

Nirvana would be a 6 gal. tank for the monster.  My old R90S held 6.4 gal, was stainless steel and was light.

What am I pregnant doging about?  I usually don't ride more than 50 mi. at a sitting.

I have had the same talk. I saw the mold for the Monster tank a few weeks ago.

When I ride the S4Rs , the Gas stops are my rest breaks .

Actually I stop every 30-40 miles for a top off and a stretch.

Got to give the Knees a break.

That's fine as long as there is a gas station every 30-40 miles. My experiance with the Hyper was: fill up, superslab it up to Angeles Crest, fill up at the bottom of the hill, ride 50 miles, forced to turn around and use the other 50 left in the tank to get back to the station, fill up ride home. I would have liked the option to keep riding in the mountains. Now I do. I'm getting about 210 a tank.

Buy an older FI metal tank.
