Desmolu, so happy you are okay. I rarely post on here, but your story made me want to post.  I am from Austin, ride an '07 S2R1K and actually just got in from a 4 hour ride down Hamilton Pool, Cypress Mill Rd, 1323, etc...

I look forward to meeting y'all sometime. Again, glad you are okay.  Heal and rest up!

Thanks! I learned two very important things from this crash: 1) When you are feeling the most confident is when you should be the most aware - you are apt to make stupid mistakes that you thought you were better than and 2) Proper gear is 100% worth it, even in this damn Houston heat.

You did indeed learn two things.  And you're okay.  So, you now have a track bike (in process) and you also get to go motorcycle shopping.

Sounds like overall not such a bad situation. ;)

Seriously though, I'm glad you are OK, and it sounds like Matador and Swampduc know their stuff.

Doesn't look that bad right? You can hardly tell that the handlebar is at a 90 degree twist from where it is supposed to be.

Don't worry, I didn't forget to photograph the damage to me:

My left arm took the hardest hit second to my head. Here is the bruise just as it was forming:

Same bruise a couple days later (today):

No, the crash didn't give me a strange alien glow - that's just the IMac cam. What you can't see in the photo is how huge my tricep is. It's so swollen it is the same size as El Matador's!

A little bit of road rash:

Sorry, can't post the rest of it - it's on my butt. Bruises on legs emerging. might make for some purrty pictures tomorrow.

That's a white arm.

You related to Joel? If so, I'm so very sorry.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

First off Lu, is the bike fully insured?  Second, everything on the bike looks superficial.
