i don't know the normal race replica bikes paint jobs sorta always look tacky, unless you are the person literally racing it, most of the time the paint schemes are way to tacky and flashy.

that being said, this one is a lot nicer than the last livery one they had the comemorative one that they last had.

i only wish they would do this livery without the hayden number on it. it has the whole captain america theme going on, so its tacky nonetheless but at least its "different"

ok so its the standard "look i have the number 69 on my bike,.. hey beavis they said 69.. huh, huh"

I really liked the 848 I saw at Ducati Austin recently when I went in to get a front-brake micro switch for my 620. Then, when I paid over $40 for the switch, I remembered why I won't be buying any more Ducatis...

I still think Stoner should have had a rep way before Nicky. Hell, he was a World Champ on a Ducati. Not that Nicky isn't one too... we'll pass on the whole Repsol Honda thing. Grin I also agree that it should have been a great intro for a 848S model. Ohlins all around. Heck they did it for the Parts Unlimited 999S bikes (which was 100% USA) why not for Nicky's 848? Makes no sense. Still, cool looking scooter. waytogo

I still have my favorite race replica, an '82 Hailwood Replica. [moto]

+1 - Stoner didn't even get a watch...  Unlike Nicky who got one after 2006 that they still can't sell...

It's all about numbers really isn't it, the US market is the biggest in the world and Ducati NA
want to sell bikes so they commission it and market it as a premium model. Would have been a great way to introduce
an S model but that may well take away from the 1198s (not sure price difference)
Very true that Casey has dominated with the Ducati compared to any other rider, gave them there first modern era
world title and still hasn't had anything special named after him.

Ducati NA most likely sell as many bikes in California as they do in all of Australia hence no Casey Model.
No biggie, I'll keep my Monster.

his number is so that when he crashes and the bike is upside down, you can still tell which rider it is. not about sexual positions.

That said, there's no way to mistake this for a real GP bike. It lacks that "gigantic carbon fiber thing that keeps the rear wheel in line".

That cracks me up! laughingdp Besides, Greg White didn't say gigantic, he said MASSIVE!!!! laughingdp I think. Grin

Slight race replica threadjack, why doesn't the Bayliss replica have at least one little Xerox sticker on it? Haven't they been the #1 Ducati WSBK sponsor for a while? I am sure they have thrown a trailer load of cubic money at this championship winning effort so you'd think they would at least get a sticker or two on the Baylis bike. Wonder if they had their feelings hurt when they saw the bike? Cry Just saying...
