Got a call last night from someone extremely interested in buying my bike. I would say more than extremely interested as he said that he wants to buy it. I said to him that he has not even seen the bike and would he want to see it first. Nah, work is so busy I will have a hard time getting down to Picton. So, he asks me to fax a copy of my rego papers to the Coppers Credit Union so he can get his loan finalised. Yep, I'll do that in the morning & feeling a bit cautious, I black out my address.

Text messaged him today saying I faxed the papers, also I checked that the fax number he gave me was indeed for the credit union. He said he is working till Sunday but can give me a couple of thousand before picking up the bike next week and giving me the rest.  Huh?

I said Nah mate, next week is fine.

I would say he is pretty keen, haven't even haggled over price!  Undecided

Hoping he doesn't know about this place yet.  Grin

He is a prince...and if you just give him your bike he will be able to use it to get his inheritance and pay you $100,000!

the cash sounds good....can't complain over cash!

Well, he won't be getting a bike without some $$$$.

I've had a few calls for it, but that's all it's been. Don from Duc Penrith has passed a few calls onto me which is great and also Bikesales. Some wanker asked me what the deal was with having a different exhaust to everyone else's. I told him it makes it sound better, is lighter, better looking and adds a bit of power to the bike. Yeah but, what's the deal with the exhaust? bang head bang head bang head

Anyway, I'll see what happens. But seeing he is using the Police Credit Union might make hime a policeman so he must be honest!  Lips Sealed  Police  Lips Sealed

I hope it goes well, I know it was very un-nerving selling my bike.
Even though a 10 yr old kid bought it! Well he looked 10 anyway.

Cash is cash, or a cheque is just as good as long as it has a bank seal on it and you sight the guys licence.

As for the guy and the exhaust! Tell him you'll sell it to him without it then!

Mate, give me his full name and I can check the police internet system to see if he is even a cop.  I'll just jump on the email site and it pulls up all police names.....  I'm at work tomorrow(Friday)  Police

Matty, what do you mean by this?

you take a bank cheque (purchased from ANZ) into a Westpac and put it into your account.....you still wait 3 business days....cause ANY cheque is as easy to forge as any other one.

Don't ever trust a bank cheque!

I've had a bank cheque given to me that the guy walked into one branch and got then went straight back in and said that he'd lost it. They cancelled it on the stop. He then gave it to us and we got stiffed when we tried to bank it.

Only go with cash! Or take the bank cheque and only provide the goods when it is cleared!

Don from Duc Penrith has passed a few calls onto me

Don, Scotty, Neil and the rest of the boys @ Penrith Ducati are legends AFAIK. Best Ducati service/repair experience I've had, I'd give them business any day.

Not sure about the Bank cheque thing. TBH I thought a bank cheque was as good as cash and if you got stiffed it was the banks fault. I'd be checking that out first with the bank in question though.

But either way, the guy would need to be giving me a massive wad of cash to give up my monster. Sad

Maybe you can come in rides with us and drive a support vehicle with cold drinks and portable BBQ or something Super.
