Aren`t there universal carbon fiber heel guards that you can buy for like $60 U.S. They just come with two hose clamps that the heel guard screws to. That will solve your problem and look decent doing it. I forgot who has them but I think one of the sponsors on here sells them also.

I'm sure MotoWheels have them and I might try that later on, although I'm not sure they will handle the sharp bend on the lower s-pipe. (?)

Contact el matador, he could fashion up some Carbon fiber heel guards to your specifications for you.

that bike looks awesome, sure looks mighty hot for Mr. Righty though!
Actually heat wasnt an issue on that bike what so ever..
I applied about two cans of high temp paint before I wrapped the pipes.
And I even wrapped the pipes that went thru the bike (a.k.a under my ass) twice to keep the heat down.

This worked for me - just ordered a extra heat shield, painted it flat black, got a couple metric clip nuts, SS button heads and fiber washers an SS worm clamps at the local hardware.

Thanks, that's encouraging..... I thought the shield would be obstructed by the s-bend.  Smiley
