Last  ride I went on was about a month ago up to ACH...

We only saw like 2x [leo] on the way up and 3 [leo] on the way down- That doesn't seem like a heavy LEO presence to me

It depends on what your innards feel like when you see a LEO...5 visual contacts in one ride?  No thanks.   :o   ;D

When you say up and down, is that distance the 30mi between the freeway and Newcomb or the whole length to Wrightwood? Makes a big difference.

[leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo]

Five.

lawbreaker is used to seeing  [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] [leo] in briefing. Five wouldn't seem like that much to him.  :)

I usually see between zero and two depending on what time I go up the hill.

Earlier = less  [leo]

I don't want to go into too many details, but I did recently deal with "the new guy" and he was not exactly sportbike-friendly.  Maybe not as bad as the other one, but I've dealt with much better.  That's really all I'd like to say.

Kind of on topic, how many  [leo] do you usually see on ACH? When we went up last weekend there were 2. Someone got pulled right in front of Newcomb so we decided to make out getaway. Got buzzed by a group of sportbikes and passed them while they were pulled over by the 2nd [leo]

Last Saturday I saw three; two in cars, one on a bike pointing some type of gadget in my direction.  He didn't pull me over, so I didn't have a chance to ask him what that gadget was.  ;D

Too many  [leo] in by book to have fun. Last Saturday we were going 45 maybe 50 out of some turns and sure enough..... [leo] pointing his radar gun at us doing 50.  :o  I will be taking a long break from ACH. Too many LEO's for my pace. I think that is why I love Azusa/GMR. You get one Sheriff if your lucky, but if you have a knuckle head that did something reckless the weekend before, you will see a CHP. Arai_speed, Erik and I ran into a CHP at the gas station.

...guess where there's no  [leo]'s, ever?

:P

One hill will ticket you for speeding, the other hill will ticket you for speeding & mechanicals!

Yeah, I can appreciate your reticence to ride ACH, but then you're a bit better at getting through the turns than I am.

Went many years without riding, then picked up the HD in early '05.  Picked up the S4RS in late '07, but haven't really been doing any twisty road riding until very recently.

It's probably been since 1990 that I've done any spirited mountain road riding.  I wasn't the slickest guy then, and now I'm a bit older with the attendant slowing of reactions and all that.

So, before I rode ACH with you that first time, I downloaded "The Pace" and used that as my approach to the riding.

The point of having said all that is to say that ACH will probably be fine for me for the foreseeable future.  I don't think my speeds will get me into any trouble.  I'm just going to work on smoothness and proper line.

Oh, and thanks for giving me a good line to follow, that is when I could still see you!   [laugh]
