Looks a lot like a dodge raider

or a short montero.......
regardless, not a great replacement for the fj40 (not that toyota has gotten it right since...)

You are correct, I took liberties because most people are familiar with flat fender jeeps ( CJ-2: flathead  4, CJ-2A: flathead 4, CJ-3A: F-head 4) and CJ-5 jeeps, not so much the millitary jeep that sired the Cillivian Jeep.
A conclusion is the place you got tired of thinking

No, the CJ-3A was also a flathead.

Egg-zachary.

Ugliest Jeep ever.

GAAN

CJ-2, CJ-2A, and CJ-3A all used the 134ci L-head with a rocking 60hp

CJ-3B used the 134ci F-head with a rocking 72hp

Then it gets crazy complicated until about 1981 I think

where you get the 258/151 options only

then in 1995/1996 it gets IZ_ again with all the chrysler V-8 options in the various jeep models

My wife and I just went to look at the new 4 door Rubicon. $36,000 !!!!! WTF!!! Sticker shock, and one of the many reasons I love my wife is the words that she spoke next:
Wife: "Im not spending that much for any Jeep."
Dealer: "Well,This one...(cut off by my wife)
Wife: For ten thousand less we will go buy a old used Hummer H1
Me: Hells Yes!
Dealer: H1's are sweet
Me: Lets go for a test drive anyway.
Wife: only if he does not come with us.
Dealer: Let me get you the keys.
Wife: lets rag this sucker out.
Me: Hells Yes!
Cop: "That thing is so nasty I can't bring myself to write you a ticket."

36K for a Wrangler? WTF?

Meh

for a Jeep no

a Rubicon...maybe

there are a lot of cool parts on a Rubi but I wouldn"t shell out 40+ after financing for em

Not when you can get a 5 year old Tj for 10 and put 20K in really cool shit in it and still be way under that mark

Chrysler doesnt build real Jeeps anymore. As soon as they came out with the plastic grill and everything else the true Jeep died. Very sad.

I think the 60hp claim might've been a little optimistic.   [laugh]

The things weren't made for racing though, and I've never encountered a situation where it wasn't enough.
