okay...so I look at Craigslist in the morning everyday to see if my old Monster (the '01 I gave to the ex in property settlement) will pop up due to stuff going on ( more on that later in a minute-that's the venting part moreso)...so I see this crazyness...

Up for sale is a BEAUTIFUL 2005 Ducati Monster S4R. She only has about 6,000 miles on her - not even broken in yet. The only reason I'm getting rid of her is I haven't rode at all yet this year (don't have the time), and it's a shame to have a bike like this in storage.
Some Highlights:
-Cobra Blue with White racing stripe
-1000 cc engine
-Arrow performance dual exhaust with chip
-Arrow custom power steering
-Extra sergeant seat
-All the original parts and literature
-Always had scheduled maintenance done - never been in the rain - always garage/storage kept.
Please email me for more information or more pics. okay...so not only did the "power steering" thing catch my eye...but my guess from the value of this at KBB...
2005 Ducati S4R Monster KBB Value as of July 21, 2009
2-Cylinders
4-Stroke
996cc
Suggested Retail Value $9090...that he is just adding up everything he has spent on it in parts and that is how he comes to his total....how does anyone think that this is the way to come to an accurate value for point of sale in asking from a private individual in this economy?...
so....to the venting....I, as previously mentioned, gave my '01 Monster 900 to the ex in settlement last August...at the time it had 29XXX miles on it when I signed it over and gave the paperwork and everything , at her request, to a mutual friend of ours...she is living and has been for the last almost 3 years in L.A and wanted to stage it there till she could figure out how to arrange for transport and expenses on her dime ( cause I was going to charge her for storage and handling if it stayed with me).....so this past May she lost her job and has been going through some measure (not sure the reality of things, but going on what she says) of health issues but somehow is still able to pay for some lawyer in the divorce proceedings...she calls said mutual friend out of the blue a month-ish ago and he told me she said for him to sell it for $3K....regardless of real value or anything ( and she hasn't seen the bike or anything) she just said site unseen to sell it for below market value...he calls me to let me know that she called to say this and asked me if I knew anyone interested....now, he doesn't know anything about Ducati's whatsoever and just a touch more about motorcycles in general, but is mechanically savvy and is an old muscle car guy, so for the fook of it I told him what KBB value was for his own edification (he isn't very internet savvy either really-he does construction stuff for a living)....I know what has been done to the bike when it was in my care and what it was needing and on the verge of needing, but have no clue about what, if anything really since I turned it over.....so I have lots of things running through my head....
