<edit> it seems all the pics aren't showing up  Roll Eyes  Ill work on it </edit>
<edit2.0>Fixed!!!</edit2.0>

I know im a little late posting these since they were taken about a month an a half ago Grin

Ive been moving and just found some time today.

It was a good bit of mileage, most at the start and end of the week.

GPS stats

I've never been to a bike event this big and have never seen so many bikes in one place.  Mostly cruisers, but there were some Duc's/Triumphs/KTM's etc.  There were zero other 950 Super Motos there.  I did see 4 KTM Adventures though for a total of 5 KTMs on site including me.

My accommodations for the week:

One of the other riders in our group had a crazy BMW I've never seen before (but it looked pretty comfy)

I think I only saw about 10 Ducati's.  Like this Monster with the odd seat and SBK Grin

At one point when we were riding from our camp ground to the fair grounds I saw something odd come the other way.  I was only able to catch a glimpse of it but it looked like a bike with a side car.

The awesome thing here was that the rider was operating the entire rig from the sidecar (alone!)  I never thought of that before and thought it was pretty cool.

Later I found out that the rider was disabled and this was his way of continuing on doing that thing we all love

Shot of the parking lot (this is only about 25% of the view)

Most awesome lug nuts ever

Lonely KTM

After 4 days of Americade (in Lake George NY) I worked my way up to ducpainter's place in NH for DIMBY 1.5

VT and NH have nice roads to ride.  I don't know how riders up there don't walk around with boners all the time thinking about their awesome roads.  Im jealous.

ducpainter attempting a wheelie on the tractor

Tractor's smasher.  It begs you to hit stuff with it Evil

Leaving DIMBY i worked my way back to just a little south of Lake George to meet up with Alfisti who offered to put me up for the night waytogo

This let me break up my long ride home and I got to meet another DMF'er chug

While talking after dinner and chug that night we got to discussing urban exploration and how it was pretty cool.  Alfisti talked about this abandoned rocket engine test site that was only like a few miles from us.

Do I want to delay my long ride home to F off somewhere we shouldn't be?  Why yes, of course I want to do that Cheesy

They were doing road construction in the area (literally right next to the site) and the gate was **open**  I was on my bike and he had his truck.  We rolled right in Grin

Some info on the site:
http://ludb.clui.org/ex/i/NY3193/
http://www.scorecard.org/env-releases/land/site.tcl?epa_id=NYD980535124

Apparently this place was used in the 50's and 60's to test new rocket fuels and rocket engine designs.  They craned the engines up into these big towers and fired them while being observed from another building.  The blast was absorbed by huge pits of water under the towers.

A little Googling told me that currently it is high on the EPA and DEP watch lists.  The water in the area is to be tested indefinitely as it contains PCB's and other things that help build strong bones and teeth.  There is a chance of radiation exposure to people onsite.  There are still fuel tanks in the ground that have fuel residue in them.

Alfisti has better pics from an actual camera but my crack phone pics will have to do for now as he's been "too busy" to email them to me or post them (everyone PM bomb alfisti and tell him to get moving)  I'm withholding a nice little PIF gift for putting me up until they're posted Evil

These are shots of the test tower.  This is essentially two buildings side by side, the left and right are mirror images of their construction.  It allows 2 engines to mount up using the same over head crane (on a U shaped rail to allow access to either side)

So of course we had to go right up in there Grin

The rest of these shots are random buildings and old things etc.

For the most part, if there was a way into it, we went in.  If there was a way up on top of it, we were up on top of it Grin  Keep in mind i was still in my leathers and boots for all of this (minus the coat- 2pc suit)  I manged to jump up and grab the last rung of a ladder on the side of a huge air conditioning unit (2 story) and climb my way up on top of the thing Evil

Grin

It seems men back in the day liked wimminz as much as they do now Smiley  This was taped to a big electrical box

Old boiler

I got in this thing and turned the key to start it.  As it was cranking over alfisti was waving me to stop Evil  I just wanted to move it a little Evil

I was trying to get a shot of this huge turkey vulture nest up under the roof tin but the sun ended up taking over the image.  I think it's a cool shot anyway.

In the days before zip ties. . .

As we were leaving the site, we encounted the gate.

Closed.

And locked with a chain.

Thankfully there were other ways out.  In fact, it was so unsecured, I don't know why they would bother locking the gate, much less why they even had it to begin with laughingdp

And the obligatory shot after I made it home

Awesome trip!  Thanks to everyone who was a part of it waytogo
