given the very apologetic look on his face and the inherent language problem, it seemed genuine to me

You have to appreciate the sentiment...but Fabrizio running over to apologize as Spies was trying to see if he could continue had to be the last thing Spies wanted.  laughingdp

I also liked the camera following Spies as he walked by the Ducati pit...and how he waved his finger at them.  Grin

I don't doubt that he was being genuine.  I still think he comes across dickishly.  Between the sign and the wave, I just don't find his attempts to be playful and/or funny to be either playful or funny.  <shrug>  It doesn't really matter.  Maybe
I'll change my tune later and I'll think he's a character.

Glad Ben got the second win.  This'll make it even more interesting for the rest of the season cuz it's gonna stay close.  And Haga should come back in good form.  Damn, he can ride injured.   Shocked

Looking over the rider results, in the top 20 only Checa, Nakano, Corser also have 4 retirements like Ben.  And that doesn't count the 16th place in Australia when he was booted off the track twice or the gas problem at Monza where he got 15th place but was basically a DNF.

oh i'm not saying he isn't... Roman.  i'm sure it took a tremendous amount of effort to admit he'd done anything wrong.  =)

Max is really coming on and was giving it all he had in the end, even if he did do the interview with something hanging off his face  laughingdp

This move right here was a lot worse, in stupidity terms, but he gets praised instead?

It's just racing man, shit happens.
Ben is from Texas. Therefore, anyone who gets between him and domination must die. As a transplanted Texan, you should know this  Grin
That said, I admit my strong pro-Ben bias colors my view of that incident.

And I know that this puts me in the minority, but I was not a fan of the above pass either.

Born in H-town baby. And I also agree with you on the Rossi pass.

I was just pointing out that just because a move is stupid it shouldn't be penalized. Stupid moves are a big part of why we pay these guys so much to do what they do, it makes things interesting.

Well, actually the off road portion of that incident wasn't a pass.  Rossi had already completed the pass at the top of the corkscrew, otherwise he probably would have been penalized for the dirttracking.  He ran too deep, but didn't break any rules per se.   Wink

It was more the contact with Stoner and his bike on return to the pavement that bothered me. Guess it was within the rules though.

do you recall the last corner of Valencia last year?  checa went for it, took out Neukirchner, lanzi was gifted the win.  shit like that happens... the bonehead factor in Brno was when it happened.
