tropical gear

Hey,
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for riding pants.
I've got a perf leather jacket that is very comfortable, but jeans offer no real protection.
I wondered what other Hawaii riders are wearing.
Thanks,

I'd recommend checking out this thread from a couple of months ago.

Thanks. I guess my question is perf versus textile and maybe a brand reccomendation. Whatever I get I gotta order online, and I am sick of paying the shipping on returns.
I've spent about an hour online and still no clue.

I have tex pants and a pair of draggin' jeans.
normal jeans-crap
draggin'- feels better, and with armor, still good airflow while feeling substantial
tex (dainese drake)-MUCH more confidence inspiring, makes the draggin' feel like I got nothing on, but they are hotter
went from tex/leather jacket to perf leather jacket, and it's great.
almost makes me think perf leather pants would work in HI... if you can get over looking weird since it isn't much of a gear culture here among the riders
I got dainese because we were at D-store and I needed new shit anyway. and the euro sizing makes it easier to find something that I fit.
most of the S/M/L stuff I've tried had me sammiched right between S and M

Thanks very much for the reply. That is exactly what I needed.
Yeah perf leather pants would be a little much here. I think I'll order a pair of the Dainese textiles.
Speaking of clothes, there was an older thread where you mentioned tshirts. Did you ever get those?

I have the venty version of the same Dainese pants, and they are still warm if you are going slow or stopped, but fine at speed. Really it comes down to your build, cause almost everybody makes a decent perf product, it's just a matter of fit. I'm, umm, narrow, so the euro stuff fits me better. Bigger guys tend to do well with the US mainstays like Icon, Joe Rocket, and Alpinestar, which isn't US, but fits bigger.
