It occurred to me that without all the gear, there's a really good chance we'd have never known about your "incident."
Glad you're still with us.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

First, glad to hear you're okay. Sh*t happens to the best riders wearing all the gear and the skills to match. Don't beat yourself up too much over this, You came out of this as well as can be expected, sounds like you understand what went wrong here, better the bike than you.
Second, I agree with those who think the bike is totaled. Either way, it can be fixed or replaced (that's what insurance is for) and grab any of your mods you can salvage.
Third, when replacing this bike, if necessary, I don't know if more horsepower (1100, Streetfighter, etc) is the best advice.

God damnit! this make the beast with two backsing sucks.
This has not been a good year so far to DMF-ers.
Good to hear that you're ok. I know that you've poured your heart and soul into this thing, it must be pretty damned hard to see it all mangled.
Maybe it's time for an M1100?

Wow, those pictures are scary. Glad to hear you are ok. Bummer about the bike as it is done for sure, but I think you'll be able to find another one. Hope to hear about your next ride soon.

THank you all for the comments.
yeah the bike is being sent to MottoMittrach (Ducati) in Zweibrucken today. i am taking all my stock parts and the stuff i pulled off yesterday at the accident. I will swap out all the stock parts before the insurance company shows up.
So, I have a DP touring seat, R&G Tail Tidy, CF exhausts are trashed (one side anyway), I'll put the charcoal canister on so i can keep the euro shroud. I had just order the DP Aluminum front fender (not even here yet). When i decide on a replacement bike (yes, i think she's gone too), i will put up for sale what i can't use.
as for me, my left trap is pretty sore today and of course my foot i'm keeping elevated. no visible bruising. yeah gotta say my armor did its job 10fold. and damn glad i didnt go under the rail down that hill.
those of you not wearing full leathers, think hard about it. i only paid 170 dollars for that set, 50 for the backprotecter. 70 for the gloves and 80 for the boots. and 170 for the helmet. best $540 life/health insurance policy!

OMG...I am really sorry to hear that.
So glad you are ok...
Those roads only care for damn cars to not crash into the woods.
Seeing those rail sopports brings bad memories of people almost getting ripped in half by them.
Looks like a guardian angel was riding with you.
And yes....you are totally right about the leather.
We had two crashes at the track day yesterday and both guys got up and walked away shocked, ripped but ok.
And yes...Streetfighter next [moto]

Holy...... glad you're okay Raux. I never had the chance to ride in Germany, but except for the guardrails, I hear the riding is wonderful.

I know it's OT, but are you assigned in Zweibruecken? I grew up just outside there in Riedelberg and went to the local Hauptschule while my dad was SJA at Zweibruecken AB back in the early 70's.

Glad to see that you are ok man. I knew a few people who went down and met the guardrails in and around J'kreuz and did not fare as well as you. Good on you for wearing your gear!

yeah i was told today by my wife that the polizei that showed up told her while overlooking the railing and the 50ft drop that same corner had killed someone not too long ago. thanks for helping me get a new bike, mr. polizei.
yeah the guardrail is a bit puzzling to me. i know i took out two supports, the first only the padding around the base, the second i definitely bent. i must have skimmed the first with the back wheel or the front bounced off of it. the bike was definitely down the whole way, cause not a scratch on the rail itself. i must have been really low in the corner when the front when off.

Not surprising - it didn't really work for the Canadians over the long term, either. Are the Kreuzberg Kaserne and the French Army post closed as well?
