First and foremost, I am just fine.  My legs are bruised to hell, but my gear did its job.  I went to the hospital just to me sure I was all right.  They X-Rayed my legs and had me out in a 2 hours with some pain killers and muscle relaxers.  Lu, I feel your pain right now. haha.  I hope you are doing better and enjoying that 695.

BastardHK, myself, and a couple of others were out for a ride through the national forest and having a great time.  We made a first run through one of the few good roads around here and everything felt great.  I made a few mental notes on the first run of debris in the left lane, so when we came back through we could make sure to dodge it appropriately.  I just forgot about some dirt clumps and of course my line through a blind corner steered me right into them.  I was running way too hot to correct my line so I just maintained throttle and rolled through.  This is where I lost my front end and prepared for a low side...except it decided to catch right at the edge of the road, and we all know what was to follow.  I highsided doing ~50.  On the bright side though, me and the bike both landed in a ditch full of mud.  Looked as if some of the local country boys had been mudding in the ditch and created a nice soft landing for me.  Unfortunately, whenever they pulled out of the ditch they left some dirt clumps on the road...what can you do though.  I learned to never get so wrapped up in the ride that you forget about hidden dangers such as road debris.

As for the bike, it fared very well, there seemed to be very little damage, until BastardHK pointed out a small dent in the frame where the fork hit it.  Insurance hasn't come to look yet, but I imagine it's totaled.  On the bright side, that means its time to shop for a new toy.  I suspect I have about a week of being sore and then I'll be back on my feet, good as new.  I just can't wait to get on a bike again.

I'm thinking another 1100S, a triumph speed triple, or a base model streetfighter.  Time will only tell.

Damn dude, that sucks, but I am glad to hear that you're ok. Lu says that the best thing is to keep thinking about what you're gonna get next and a lot of oral.

As for the bike, you might be able to buy it back dirt cheap and make a nice little track bike out of it.  waytogo

Good to hear you are ok.  Sounds like it could have been worse if that ditch wasn't muddy.  Then again you might not have been in the ditch to begin with if the mud wasn't on the road...........

It's kind of like on of those if a tree falls in the woods things...... Undecided

Geeeez.  My fam was in town for the weekend so I missed the ride this morning, but my buddy lost his Busa trying to get around a cage that came over the line.  You're lucky it's just a bruised leg and a dented frame.  Glad to hear it.
