Facultative Carnivore

« on: July 26, 2009, 06:36:47 PM »

...you guys in Washington can't legally lane split, at least judging from the angry honks I got coming up tonight in an I-5 traffic jam.

Made it from San Jose to Grants Pass in one go, then Grants Pass to Seattle, only to encounter temps higher than those back home.  Is that any way to welcome me? Smiley  In the words of Cartman: Screw you guys.  I'm going home.   Grin

Saw lots of Harleys in both states and lots of squids and a few Monsters as I got closer to Tacoma/Seattle.

Yeah, Lane Splitting -> Not so much...  There are quite a few Ducs in Portland as well, but over in Central Oregon, it's almost all HD or cruiser bikes... Glad you had a great ride!!  Let us know the next time so we can meet ya!

Cali is the only state where it's legal.  I miss it but not too much, there's much less traffic here in Portland.

There's Monsters in Central Oregon!  We're just anti-social so screw you, go back to your Starbucks and traffic jams!  Tongue

Whoa there buddy!  Starbuck's is from Seattle.  Central Oregon is not Seattle.  We may all be PNW but there are still borders and rivalries.  I'm not offended but I'm just sayin' you might want to be careful 'bout calling a central Oregonian a Seattlite.  Them might be finghtin' words!

Wink

I like coffee.

I like my quad espresso.

I like toast.

I like jam.

But no...

I do not like a traffic jam.

There's the PNW and then there's Central Oregon, we in the Central Oregon area are completely different animals.   Grin

I made it as far as Seattle where I got far too drunk. Left this morning and now I'm in Newport, OR. Wanted to push farther today but I'm just wiped out.

I had grander plans for this trip, but the spirit-crushing heat isn't any fun to ride in.

Head for the mountains, always nice and cool up there.  The cost is usually pretty cool though too so you should be feelin' good going down the coast.

I see how it is... When I lived in Seattle, never went to Starbucks anyway, always went to Tulley's for their Dilettante (sp?) Mochas.  As for living in CO, Human Bean, gotta love em...  And my heart will always have a warm spot for Thump (they use Stumptown from PDX)...

Oh and ride Safe, 'Crook!  And yes, it's much cooler in the Mtns!  Smiley

Not only is it cool on the coast, yesterday it was 70.  We serve the best coffee you've ever had!  Try it for yourself or ask Johhny D, Neikos, Ryan, Gracie or Marvel.

For those of you that haven't been here, so sad for you.

The ride down the coast was excellent.  Nice and cool (and the coffee was pretty good).  If you haven't done it, riding down 101 is a great way to kill a few days.  Made it back to San Jose last night, making 2100 miles in 4 days.

Neikos is dead to us.  Long live Neikos.

In other news . . . it's great to find out your employer is having layoffs from the front page of the Oregonian vs. from management.

<sigh>

I need a sugar mama!
