Has anyone heard anything about this?  Plueger Honda put an add on CL selling tire sets for an upcoming military track day on the 17th.

Maybe so, but I haven't heard anything about it, and I am an alternate motorcycle safety rep at work.

Just in case you hadn't seen it yet...

The coaches from the California Superbike School are coming to Wheeler AAF from August 17th through the 20th.
This advanced motorcycle course is for riders that have already attended either the Basic Rider or Experienced Rider Courses.  This is an advanced course and is not for brand new riders.  Course speeds will vary from 35 to 60 mph in a closed tri-oval road course with heavy braking and lean angles.  This course is for active duty military personnel only. Army personnel have priority over other services. There are 8, half-day, sessions of 36 riders.  If this session is full, enroll in another session.  Each session will have 36 registered and up to 6 stand-by riders.

This class is in conjunction with the California Superbike School, and teaches a segment of their curriculum. Riders will be coached on technique in curves, to include braking to entry speed, selection of turn in point, line, throttle control, and common errors.

On course time will be in 4 sessions of 15 minutes, travelling over 40 miles and over 400 turns.  Between course sessions there will be debriefing and Q&A.  All motorcycles will undergo a full technical inspection.  Good tires, properly adjusted and lubed chain, properly adjusted and functioning suspension, serviceable brakes, and good overall condition are mandatory.  Motorcycles failing tech inspection will not be allowed unto the course.  Riders must wear minimum Army required PPE, but additionally full-face helmet, riding jacket, riding pants are suggested to minimize risk of injury. Insurance/registration/MSF cards will be checked prior to entry.  Riders will be grouped by motorcycle type for capability on the course, with cruisers/tourers/dual sports/standards grouped separately from full sport bikes and supermotos.

Active duty military personnel can register on-line at:

https://airs.lmi.org

Select Pacific region, Hawaii garrison, and sign up for "Advanced Motorcycle Training." Seats are limited and preference is given to army personnel, so get your battle buddies together and register today!

What can you expect?  It's the Army paying to have this class down here, so it doesn't really surprise me that they are limiting attendance to active duty personnel.

Shame we don't have a shop that is active with the local riders.  It would be great PR if a shop got behind a movement such as this, and tried to get one of the schools to send reps down.
