Hey, Daisy is OK and you both learned something.  Glad she is OK.

I used to have a jeep wrangler and I would take the top and doors off in the summer.  Jazz, my Choc Lab (2 years old at the time of this story) was really good about leaning into the turns and going to the back seat when she didn't feel like leaning into turns anymore.  One day Jazz fell asleep in the passenger seat and I took a left turn at an intersection after a red light turned green.  I was only going about 5-15 mph when she bailed.  I slammed on my brakes and she just hoped back in like nothing happened.  She is tough as nails.

Arghh..poor dog!!  A Good ending though!!   [thumbsup]

The bulldog we rescued jumped out the back window of the SUV.  Luckily, he had a collar/leash on and he was fastened inside the back seat.  I was only going 10 mph in the PetSmart parking lot.  I came to a stop, got out and he was hanging like a sack of potatoes.  Luckily, Bulldogs have thick necks.  He was fine but a little traumatized.

My pug jumped out the back of the S-10 when he was a puppy.  He got excited as we were parking and jumped over the side off.  He landed on his mouth/chin.  Didn't knock out any teeth but he cut himself a good one!!   :-[

On a side note...

It's very easy to conceal quartered doggy pills in crunchy peanut butter.  [thumbsup]

LOL..my Frenchie thinks pills are treats.  She's like a friggen goat.  No need to conceal any medications!   [roll]

My brittany at 4 months old jumped out of the side window out of the back of my pickup. The canopy window was closed, and he nosed it open.

I was doing 60 mph on the freeway, just happened to catch him in the act, but not soon enough. I zoomed to the shoulder while slamming on the brakes, he
jumped during this procedure. When I came to a stop he was under the truck.

Took two months of extremely restricted motion, then slow walks. He's a year now, runs like the wind, but will always have sort of hiccup in his giddyup.

He's terrified of the back of the truck now....go figure.

Poor Doggy.  I'm glad she's gonna be ok - and I bet she doesn't do that again.

My dog maggie jumped out of a third story window in my old house. Some kids were calling her name when they saw her in the window. She broke all of her ribs and front leg on her right side. The leg is fused at the elbow. We now call her Hop-Along-Maggie. She was only 9weeks old at the time of the jump. She is 7 now and doing well.

It's astounding what can happen to these animals and they still keep going.

I've had some hunting dogs do things you would think impossible, or have stuff happen to them while hunting and they just keep going. Truly amazing.

Glad she is ok. She is probably thinking "Seemed like a good idea at the time." I know I would.

Thanks for all the kind words! She had a pretty rough day yesterday. Couldn't get on the couch or the bed, and couldn't walk up/down the steps on her own. Today she's back to about 90%. Came running up to me at full speed when I got home from work and was hopping around like normal. Still has a bit of a limp in one of her back legs, but nothing too bad. Aside from the road rash, I think she'll be just fine in a few days.

On another note, I'm sorry to hear about all of your dogs that have done the same thing. It's apparently more common than I thought.
