I just came back from the country side...whilst I was there I  took the grinder (with buffing brass and polishing pads) to the Estwing hammer....I'm 23% sexier....I got the hammer to look better than a brand new one (and she's 12 years old). well pleased!  Smiley

(I also have an Estwing hatchet under the bed - how frickin sexy is THAT)

I take it Grade V is a rifle?

used to own a 92f pistol, absolutely beautiful machine that was...and that was their idea of utilitarian design...their show guns are even better (never seen any in the flesh but have seen in magazines).

and regarding the original post....

don't you just hate tool shops these days....bunch of Chinese shit that isn't worth your time...I mean is it so hard to buy something of quality that you can hand down to your son?

I've picked up some tools lately that are over 40 years old and the quality is just brilliant compared to today's throw away crap...and this is fairly new development I have one tool store that used to be in Richmond and everything was Swedish, German with the occasional Russian bit....now...Taiwan and China.

you kind of get the feeling that there are brilliant tools out there....just not easily accessible by the public.

Agree entirely R.  Grin

I used to haunt the Sunday markets when they wer fair dinkum "trash and treasure" and bought great Dowidat ring spanners, Stahwille ringies and sockets. And along with the original (40+ year old.) Sidchrome stuff I inherited from my Father and Grandpa I have some really old but brilliant quality tools. waytogo

You cant even get Sidchrome to honour the Lifetime Gaurantee. (Actually I dont think that exists anymore??) The Sidchrome made in China stuff is shit!! We use the new Sidchrome at work and the ratchets are constantly breaking. Angry
