Does anyone know or has anyone put a 620 engine in a 900 frame?  A friend of mine has a 620 engine and I have a 900 frame so we were thinkin' why not put a bike together. Has anybody done this or know if it would fit up....

What year 900?  Cuz IIRC, it'll take more work if it's not an '02.  While you're at it, I've got a Ninja 250 motor.  You got an 1198 frame kicking around?

Yes, it will work.

The main difference that Spidey was mentioning is that pre 2001 (1993-2000) monsters use 10mm engine bolts and the 2001 and newer all use 12mm engine bolts. So you'd have to drill out the frame a little at the engine mounting bolt points. otherwise it should fit right together. Make it carbed or you're gonna run into a lot of other issues.

I did the opposite for my girlfriends bike (turned a 620 into a 900) but they were both 2002's and everything bolted right up ( as far as I remember).

I put a 2000 M900Sie engine in a 02 M620ie frame. As long as the 900 frame is an 02+ it will fit. If it is pre-02 then you will have several issues. The 02+ throttle bodies were reverse of the pre 02 900ie. The mounts for most of the electronics are different as well. The rear suspensions on the bikes are not the same either. If the 900 frame is pre-02, it is not worth the effort.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
