The monster is ready to go - I've got all my gear - first time on the track
(and a little bit nervous)

she may be nervous...but I have a feeling she is gonna rock da haus!

I have some nervous excitment every time I go, and I suspect most people do. It seems to go away after the first lap, and then it's nothing but fun.

I'm nervous for every trackday, and I've done more than a few by now. Recognize it as your brain kickin' in and take it easy until the butterflies go away a little bit. You're going to have a lot of fun and learn tons.

after many many track days i still get nervous, can't sleep, can't tolerate sitting through the rider's meeting, etc.. and fortunately it all seems to go away the moment i get out there.

I have a terrible tendency of waking up at 3:30 in the morning all ready to go. Not good especially when you need all your rest. And I'm definitely not a morning person!
Being nervous is good. It'll help keep you in line. Too nervous is another thing.

Minor threadjack:
If anyone's looking for some more reading along this line I would suggest Mind Gym by Gary Mack. Great book, many, many ways to apply it to riding.
Have fun out there [moto]

Hope your track day went well! I'm driving down to MMP tomorrow for Ienatsch's Yamaha school and have my own nervous excitement thing going on tonight.
