So, just saw the Murphys for the 2nd time in 6 months.

F**k me!  Those guys kick ass live.

Tonight, I put my 34yo ass in the pit... never doing that again.

Saw them last year with The Bosstones.

Bosstones gave a better performance, Dropkick had A LOT more energy.

I haven't been in a pit in close to 10 years.  I'm more than happy to keep it that way.

I've seen DKM close to 15 times now.  I go see them every chance I get.  Awesome live show.  Not as awesome now that they have a new guitarist.  The old guy, Mark, was nuts and was a great part of the show.

Bosstones are still around?

My favorite all time concert was in like `97. Dropkick Murphys, Mustard Plug and the Pietasters at Tramps NYC. Oh the good ol days.

The Dropkicks are great live. I've probably seen them over 50 or 60 times. A few years back, I got hired to do a photo shoot with them in Fenway Park. We had the run of the field for the day, it was awesome.
Here's a scan of the article the pics were published in;

I haven't been in the pit at a Dropkicks show in a while, I get photo passes now and just watch from the side of the stage. I did though, go in the pit at an Agnostic Front show about a year ago, and I'm 39 now.

39 Years old & spent an hour in the pit & then on stage for " Shipping up to Boston " to end the March 15th show at The House of Blues in Boston. quite the work-out.

But I also think having lots of  drink Helps  Grin

If you haven't had the chance get to Boston for their St.Pats day wek-end shows at The House of Blues. I've seen them a few times at a few different venues, but the energy of Dropkicks & the crowd there is the best.

Never cared much for mustard plug.. but was at the Pietasters shows all the time. I was lucky enough to be just a few years younger than much of the band and lived in the same area. They sold me their 1st tape out of a car while I was walking down the street. Oh for the days when DC made music.

DKMs is a great show... they just don't come to DC near enough  Undecided

I didn't go to the DKM shows at HOB this year. I went a couple of weeks ago for Rancid and wasn't impressed with the room at all. It was gen admission, but they weren't letting anyone else onto the floor, I got stuck on the second level for a while and had a lovely view of the lighting rig. Just as I was about to leave, because I was sick of watching the lights, the security guard who was in front of the elevator ran off somewhere and I got on the elevator and went to the floor level. Down there wasn't bad, but I think I liked Avalon better.

I think DKM makes it out to Hawaii every now and then. I know they were there last year sometime.
