to go from this

to this

this is the first time i have sat on the bike since Oct 08.
i'm a bit happy. so happy in fact that i forgot to throw horns until the last second and didn't quite get my hand into position  laughingdp

however, it won't be ridden for at least a week.
I still have a couple of minor things to wrap up before it's ready to be fired up. Shocked
I can't seem to find the gasket i ordered, and i no longer have the shim for the air gap so i can't use silicon. bang head

now as long as i get it up and running before Oct i win. I was told by my friends that it would stay unfinished for at least a year. Embarrassed

one other thing i need to add...

getting the nuts on the vertical exhaust header make the beast with two backsING SUCKS. when designing the engin could they at least have them come out straight so you can get to them easier if they are only going to leave you 1" of space to turn the dam things?

i would say that it depends on the stickers that are being suggested
(is that a hint as to what i will find in my mailbox soon?)

do you have the correct tool?  it's the crazy-ass looking C thing that has a nut driver on one end and a socket on the other.  using that, you understand why they don't care there is an inch of clearance.

i forgot about that part.

ducati needs to sell the tools to work on the engine.  Angry
i'm not spending $80 for the tool. i'll just bang my knuckles, get frustrated and take a lot longer to do it thank you very much.  laughingdp

ohh, i don't suppose anyone has a left side control for an IE monster laying around. mine has a broken idle lever.

i've slowly built up a list of ducati tools over the years.  you just get tired of the band-aids. Grin
