How is that MJ dies and people are crying in the streets and the media's nipples stay erect for days on end...
but a TRUE GREAT dies and there is barely a ripple?
I think I may revert to hating everyone again.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

He had some serious passion. When he lost the use of his right arm, he had it permanently fixed in a playing position.

I remember when Leo Fender died there wasn't much of a mainstream media buzz about it.

RIP. IIRC, he was still playing regular gigs up until this year. One of the unsung greats.

Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Damn.  :(

But what a run.....

For anyone wanting to hear some fine strummin', I don't think it gets any better than the recordings that Les Paul and Chet Atkins did together.  This one's a gem - "Chester and Lester" from the mid 70s.

And he didn't just lay down either.  The guy has been playing weekly until fairly recently at some club in Manhattan.

Play a guitar?  Hell he nearly invented em.  Another American icon gone.

Damn, I must be gettin' old. I saw him and Jeff Beck at the Warner theatre in D.C. back in late '79, early '80. Truly one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
He will be missed.
