its all the modding these bastards do. it ruins your mpg's.

... and I thought it was the extra 60 lbs I was carrying around  Embarrassed

When I bought my bike (carbed) it was running very rich and getting about 24 around town.  I've yet to completely dial in the jets (after 4th time, I've lost a little wind from my take it apart/swap/dyno/rinse/repeat excercise) I now am getting closer to 33 city with a bump up to 40 for any highway trips (preferably non-slab).

And back on topic, worst offenders here in Sacto are at $4.75, but most are 10 cents less than that with Costco coming in nearly 20 cents cheaper.

Funny catch I recently discovered about myself.  I was driving out of my way to find cheaper gas - only trouble was that I ended up burning between half and a whole gallon to do so.  I may have saved $2 to fill up if I was lucky, but I spent that much or more to get there - not to mention the drive-time.  bang head

Same here, I was getting about 26mpg around town when I first got it. I just had my bike dyno tuned and re-jetted... low & midrange torque and mileage must go hand and hand cause now I have way more of both.  Grin I am now getting around 37mpg city and just under 45 highway I think.

Yeah gas prices suck but you have to smile knowing we get the gas mileage of a Prius but the fun factor of a Ferrari (well pretty close anyway).  waytogo

FWIW, I just paid $1.69.9 per litre, which works out at $6.45 per (US) gallon.

Damn near $30 to fill it up!

big (and premium was $1.74.9...)

This thread explains why I have seen two scheduled maint. visits on my S2R and one oil change in my truck this last year.
