This is more specifically geared to push-pull Ducati applications, but feel free to post up all the other stuff out there for general reference in the future.

Is anyone aware of other options? I would like to put some such tube on my carb'd M900 which has a push/pull system and would like to be able to get just the tube and not have to replace the housing as well.
If you are interested in the
Electraeon Fast Throttle Cam
, that's different than what I'm talking about - that mounts to the throttle bodies, not the tube where you grab and twist. Its not available for push/pull applications, but can be found here for those interested:

I'm not sure that's possible. AFAIK, the "quick" action comes from larger diameter cams. You could also look into MotionPro. The push-pull throttle cables that came with my FCRs were M/P.

Ah, the ER Racing piece from yoyodyne / sportbike track gear comes with cables and will work for the carb'ed push pull 900's apparently. Or so I was told. More on this when the parts come in the mail.

I've been staring at an '06 gsxr 1000 throttle tube/housing/kill-start switch that an ebay seller shipped with my gsxr brakes, I really think it might work on the monster but I haven't come to that part of my project yet...I'll let you know more once I've tried it

Here's the apparent differences I'm observing as far as OEM parts go:
Carburetted Push-Pull Throttle Systems with Housing (Looks like M900/M750 are the same at the grip, Bonus: This is the cheapest at >$50)
F/I Single Cable throttle systems (00 Monsters and newer it seems) (Over $100)
Single Cable Superbikes (748/996 etc) (Over $100)
Push-Pull Superbike Systems (749/999, 848/1098, Hypermotard) (Over $100)

I like the steel elbow at the cam end. I always hate trying to worm my cables around so that I can avoid the sharp turn coming up to the cam.
Sadly I've got nothing useful to contribute though. I'm curious what about the tube only products makes them that bike specific. Is it bar diameter or perhaps length? I don't imagine that the ends of the throttle cables can be all that different.
edit: Oh wait... the tube goes into a housing and that's probably what makes it bike specific.

Yep - the housing is what I think makes the difference on the push/pulls. I think the single cable ones are notably different in that the cam profile isn't the same as the push/pulls, since there's only one cable.
The cables, though, may be different on the ends on the superbikes as well, since they are pretty much their own beast nowadays. It probably was a lot easier to frankenstein parts over from the SS line, or the triple8 series.

I have since installed the Euro Racing Quickturn Throttle kit. Using the middle sized cam.
WOW. Its so easy to manipulate and the power feels like it comes on in a hurry now.
I'm very pleased with the functionality. Looks-wise, the housing itself is nice, but the cables are WAY more visible now. In this case, I don't care: function over form. (And no, you can't use Rizoma grips with this, and I question the structural integrity of the plastic cams on them after seeing mine come out and comparing it to what you get with the ER Racing kit).
I got my kit from
STG

Ato,
I have just started looking for this type of quick throttle.
Want to kick the Rizoma's off and have some pro sbk gel grips to put on.
Was it the last one on the list that you used?
Got any pics you can share.
Thanks
Matty...

I've got pics, I'll post them up today. The one I went with was the Euro Racing (ER Racing) Throttle (and cable) kit that is available from Yoyodyne and Sportbike Track Gear (stateside). It comes with three throttle cams ("kind" of like the Rizoma set, except that nothing is plastic) - Also includes the throttle cam housing , obviously, since it is a complete set cables and all.
Installation was not "simple" - Stock Mikuni carburettors are center-pull, meaning, to do this, you have to remove the airbox. And the battery. And the carbs (to access the underside very easily). We had the bike up on a lift hoping we wouldn't have to do this, since that would give us better access to the bottom side, but no dice.
I know the kit is also for the superbikes, looks like you have an S4Rt from your avatar.
If I had a fuel injected bike, I'd be looking, HARD, at one of the evoluzione style throttle tubes, which have a gradual beginning profile, then accelerates through the rotation to wide open throttle. They are a little more progressive. I'm using the middle cam of my set, and its "a whole lot of gas, a whole lot more gas, full throttle" - that's how I would describe it. It has taken some getting used to, and bumps aren't cool because it jossles you a bit, but I do like it now - my gas mileage has suffered big time, since I can get up in the higher RPM a lot faster now without realizing it.
I'll post pics when I get to my laptop.

I had a high dollar quick throttle on my 999 for a while, and really liked it. Someone on speedzilla suggested I try a throttle off an R1. $17 and an hour later, I was as good as the high dollar "quick turn". Sold that on the 'bay the next day.

I knew there was a cheap change for either R6 or R1 owners, to use the other's throttle tube.
The cool part about the ER Racing Throttle, is the ability to change the cam size for your preference. That, and nothing is plastic and seemingly fragile (lookin' at YOU, Rizoma!)
