I recieved a flyer in the mail from Ducati advertising full factory support or "generous factory trade in allowances".  Does anyone know how generous and what they are offering in addition to dealer trade in?

Good question.  I saw that too and was wondering about the details.  A phone call / Email to your local shop should get some answers.  That's what I am going to try and I'll let you know.

that would certainly follow their Bologna shop style.  employees can trade in bikes and they refurb and sell the used bikes in the shop.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I just called DNA and they told me they would have to get back to me.  Customer service did not know what the allowances might be or  if they could even tell me over the phone.  I think the CSR was just unsure of the whole thing.

I got the same flyer, and was curious if this meant I was about to get an easy-financed 1098R.

Just talked to my dealer re: the trade in allowances. Basically, you're looking at getting a few hundred $ more for your trade in than you normally would (or maybe they just don't want my Monster and they're just telling me that  Grin)

I haven't received a response yet but I knew it wasn't going to be enough to get me off my ass a pick up a new 848.

I am guessing what a first years worth of service would be since that is the other option, maybe $500 or so.

depends on how much you ride... given what the dealers seem to quote for a 7.5k, that'd almost be a $1700-2000 value.

I only put 3000 since I have had my 696, in a little over a year.  Next service interval is at 7500. For the full factory support program, I think your second service is only a basic service unless you actually reach 7500, then they will do valve adjustments.

From the Ducati Website-

Service 1: to be performed within 6 months of delivery date or 600 miles, whichever comes first.

Service 2: to be performed within 12 months of delivery date or 7,500 miles*, whichever comes first. To be eligible for the program, Service 2 service must be completed no later than 30 days within one year of the delivery date of your motorcycle.

*If you reach 7,500 miles within the first year you are also eligible for Service A (valve inspection) to be done in conjunction with the 2nd Service. See your owners manual for complete details.

What items are included in the services?
Service 1 includes the following maintenance operations:
Change engine oil
Change engine oil filter
Check brake and clutch oil level
Check chain tension, alignment and lubrication
Check brake pads. Replace as needed
Road test motorcycle
Service 2 includes the following maintenance operations:
Change engine oil
Change engine oil filter
Check brake and clutch oil level
Brake and clutch controls check and adjustment
Check and lubricate starter/accelerator controls
Tire pressure and wear check
Check chain tension, alignment and lubrication
Check brake pads. Replace as needed
Check warning and instrument lighting
Check and tighten engine to frame mounting nuts
Check side stand
Check front wheel tightening nut
Check rear wheel tightening nut
Check external fuel line
Check front fork oil and rear shock absorber for leaks
Check front sprocket
Lubrication and greasing at all required points
Check battery and charging system
Road test motorcycle
General cleaning
Check coolant level (4 valve models only)
Check power fans and cooling circuit seals (4 valve models only)
Change fuel filter (S4RS and S4R models only)
Ducati service intervals and required operations are related to both time and mileage. Note that if you reach 7,500 miles within the first year you are also eligible for Service A (valve inspection) to be done in conjunction with the 2nd Service. See your owners manual for complete details.

Wow, Not bad if valves are included in the 1st year's service. But the bike I bought would have to be my only moto for me to do 7500 miles on it in a year.

Do you mind telling what you got for your trade in and how many miles you had on your 696.  What did you upgrade to?

my 696 had 51xx miles with termis and a tail chop, it needed a rear tire asap as well.

they gave me 6700 + the forza(700 in my case).  when i was shopping around most places were quoting me @ 6k for my bike.  everyone just said they had too many 696 in stock.  my bike was completely mint minus the rear tire.

upgraded to an 1100s.  http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=28256.0

hope that helps, if you have any other q's just ask!
