Can you ceramic coat Titanium?..

All CF may turn yellow over time, depends how good the clear coat is..

While all the posts about the change of CF are more or less accurate, it really depends on how well you take care of your bike. If you keep up with regular maintenance, the life of the CF will be much greater. It's not as fragile as you'd be led to belive. I live in AZ, needless to say, it's HOT. I use my bike to commute most days to and from work, as well as between Phoenix and Tucson (140 miles). I always keep my bike clean, and I ALWAYS cover my bike when it's parked (especially at work where (for some retarded reason) there's no shaded parking for motorcycles.

Now that being said my CF cans are relativly new, but I'm doing everything that I can (without becoming an inconvienience) to take good care of them. Yellowing does happen, but for the look and sound, and a little extra maintenance makes it worth while.

With regards to the sound that CF puts out, I've found that it really varys between manufacturers. Mine sound absolutly amazing - especially during deceleration. I looked into every mfgs cans and decided on the ones that I have because as far as motorcycles go (to me) it's the hottest sound that I've ever heard. Other composits just don't maintain the same reverberation and quality of bass that I found with these. Thats not to say that Termis or any other aren't amazing sounding, but just didn't have what I was looking for.

It's a tough decision and I can totally relate to what you're going through to decide which ones to get. It's not like buying a pair of pants that you can try on and return if they don't fit right.

Yes. It's hot but nowhere near as hot as metal.

There are lots of posts here regarding various pipes/systems for various bikes. Do a series of searches and have fun reading...helped me a great deal with the collective knowledge of the DMF. Good luck!

I disagree.  I have Ti high mount pipes and have had girls ride cupcake for at least a couple hours with no problems.  I'm not saying they've had bare skin resting against the pipes, but they've been wearing jeans without any burning issues.

I've touched the cans immediately after a hard ride through the twisties and they're warm to the touch, but never burned me.

very good info thr Mr. B. anyone want to come fwd and disagree?? IMO Ti cans look cool and with no aging problems....a must have. looking at all the youtube videos posted for both, Ti tends to give a slight lower note than the CF. has anyone noticed this difference or its just poor sound reproduction??

I guess I can't speak for all manufacturers, just that my Spark pipes give me no heat issues. I'm no scientist, just giving my FHE.   Smiley

my old 900 had Ti (totally forgot). if i remember they cool pretty fast and don't heat up as much as SS or AL. My CF didnt heat past the point of touching with gloves. Had to use actual exhaust pipes as heaters during colder mornings. The other question is the Termi TI pipes are E3 compliant, wonder if that means they have the Cat Conv. meaning they will get hotter than the straight through SS or CF since the Cat needs to heat to function.

I've got GPR high mount Ti's on my 695 and completely agree with this.  Touched them after long rides and they're just warm, not burn inducing.
