So I did a search but nothing came up.  I was wondering if anyone has used the Marving Cat Eliminator mid pipe from Monster Parts:  http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/D-138B/Exhaust/D-138B.html

I have a 2007 S2R800 with Termi slip-ons and was wondering if this would bolt right up?  Also, I understand I would have to have my ECU mapped after installing a non-cat mid pipe?

My Monster was a demo bike before I bought it and not sure if the dealer I bought it from actually installed the performance ECU that's suppose to come with the Termi slip-ons.  I guess everything will hinge on whether or not I actually have a performance ECU.

If I'm right in assuming that US spec S2R 800s are EURO 2 (emission bla bla)(check if you have O2 sensor on the cat) - they are more forgiving and will "accept" slip ons without any other requirements than adjusting fuel/air. = no new ECU required.

If you also change to a cat-less midpipe, like the one from MonsterParts, you will probably have to do something like a Ducati Performance ECU or listen cautiously to what others have done with PowerCommander.

All I know is that the DP ECU makes everything work very well.

BTW1 don't expect more than a little performance gain, but a lot more/better music waytogo
BTW2 a friend has an unused brand new ECU for EURO3 S2R 800. He's selling it cheap.

EDIT: Marving will bolt right up. Takes a little work though.

Thanks for the reply, stopintime.

I don't see any sign of an O2 sensor on my cat.  So if by some miracle I have a DP ECU then putting on a mid-pipe is no biggie, right?  But if I don't, i should look into getting one prior to getting a catless mid-pipe?

I guess I should just cross my fingers and hope I already have the performance ECU because if I don't I'll have to put of buying a mid-pipe until I can also afford the ECU.

Check with the dealer first?

I believe your bike will need something if you get the midpipes. This question has been discussed on here earlier - do some new searches (not Marving, because the brand is not important) midpipe ECU sensor 800 07

Here, I did it for you (you might try other searches as well, there should be more...)
It's a lot of reading - which leads to more questions, but it's so much better to do the research than to make the wrong and expensive decisions. Good luck and welcome back with more questions waytogo

It's amazing what the right search terms bring up, thanks again stopintime.  Sometimes I really feel search illiterate.

Wow, it gets really technical doesn't it?  No real easy answer I guess.  I think I'll wait until my next service and find out if I have the DP ECU already because it sounds like if I'm missing that it gets expensive pretty fast.

I was really hoping I could just get a mid-pipe put on to get rid of that horribly ugly udder, I'm not even really looking for power increases or anything, just aesthetics.
