i almost feel dumb for asking but would a custom paint job mess with my warranty in any way my gf wants to order the skins for her monster but at $850 bucks not including labor i suggested that she just has white pieces painted to the exact color she wants rather then paying that much for a few plastic pieces that are kind of close to the color she wants. any suggestions? i appreciate any input

If I'm not mistaken, the only way a part can actually violate the warranty is if the manufacturer can legitimately point to that part actually being the cause of any issue that might arise. Now having said that, and in this current economic situation, it would not surprise me to see any and all manufacturers start re-looking how they address their warranties and being very particular what they will and will not honor.
But I would imagine you would be safe with just a color change.

thanks for your input. now i have one more quick question, is there a way to lower the 696 an inch or 2? i would feel much better if the gf could be flat footed when trying to touch the ground.

Hey Will, I need to get the S scheduled for its 6000 mile deal. Do you know off the top of your head when a good time would be? Also, do you know if you guys have belts in stock?

well, belts are not replaced until the 12 k, but being that it is an 06, it would be a horrible idea. ducati says they should be replace every 2 years regardless, but they are definitely are on the side of caution. this week i am super booked i believe, next week i will be in NYC and i come back halfway into the following week. so i would suggest calling to get on for then, as i will surely be playing catch up for a while. thanks for your understanding in advance.
