I didn't want to say anything on the facebook photos, but when I was racing, Novice alerts or not, I always gave a guy I was passing or lapping some lee way. That said and from what Ryan said, I think he thought he was clear and went on riding. "Driving through someones windshield" is never a good idea and I think Ryan, you thought you could follow the faster guy and learn something. All I can say is that it happened on a track and you are not the worse for wear. Safety gear and corner workers are awesome. Thanks them every time you go out!

Wow Ryan, those photos are nuts. I was happy to see you didn't get tossed super high but when you said the bike landed on you, you meant it! I hope you're feeling better.

As a gridfiller/backmarker myself
the fast guys are around 10 seconds faster a lap.
When they pass you there is not a whole lot you can do...

Yeah... my line was different than usual due to taking T1 way faster than usual. Had I held to my normal line, which Kevin knows, I would have been fine... but I was cooking... and then target fixated on his wheel.... but once he cut across... it was way to fast to do anything about it.

FYI I didn't mean to be negative, you guys got a lot more guts than I.
I only raced things with windshields and fenders. But I do know how following a guy lapping you can be trouble, like it was. I also know how easy it is to do it anyway. Back to the armchair I go.
