Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

« on: August 24, 2009, 10:56:07 PM »

Alrighty peoples consider the ball rolling ...

Well this seemed to work quite well last year. By setting a few dates up front, people can add them to their diaries early and plan around it rather than getting a last minute call and being unable to make it.

Granted we have some variety in machines and rider ability, but these days are not about that - everybody generally knows their relative place in the group and can ride within their limits. As everybody knows what to expect from the outset, it becomes more of a social occassion (read 'big group') and the day is conducted accordingly - so the distances are not too long and sub-groups emerge without too great an impact on the larger group.

This would give dates of:

7th February (Monster Beach Party?)
4th April
6th June (Queen's birthday weekend)
1st August
3rd October (labour day weekend) 26th September
5th December

Anybody care to add to or dispute Matty's ideas?

You called it, I'll be there for it.
Hows about we go South or South West.
Pie shop, K.V. and beyond.
Or Bathurst area as the last time people went there wasn't many in attendance.

Wow! 16 people have viewed, but no comments... alrighty then, sounds like a good plan re. date.

I'll try my best to make it, but I may piss off O/S at the last minute though !  bang head

I like the idea of the out-west trip. Haven't done that particular route yet, but happy to go anywhere really.  [moto]

How about Bathurst then via Oberon to Jenolan Caves, then back via either Great western or Bells Line. Someone was telling me that the Oberon road has been resurfaced recently and is in pretty good nick.

Longer, shorter, elsewhere, I'm not fussed. As long as Parra isnt playing in a Final on that day, I'll be there.

Hi my names Matty third time viewer first time posting!
The Caves and Oberon sound picture perfect to me.
Just as long as us 4R folks can get fuel and not a dribble before
the place mysteriously burns down hours later!

So map it Craigo and let's see how it looks.

Craigs route sounds good to me.
I have not been to Bathurst since primary school. Gold Panning & hot laps in a bus - What a joyous exercise.................

Looks good Bathurst via the Bells line.
Drove the bells line on sunday only 80kph most of the way  and    patrolled Police  they were out in force all day.
Only 145klm back to lithgow via Oberon  with detour to Jenolan.
With fuel at Oberon if needed.
Will be there if my other proposed venture to Qld doesn't happen.

Cause it is, just replaced Heart & Soul with more appropriate terms.
Should I have used, Tamper & Grinder?

I'll take tamper and grinder! "Froth" conjurs up "bad cappuccino at trucker tucker truck stop" images in my brain, but I'll excuse that from you, given that you are not an espresso man!
