I don't like it. Does flow well to my eyes. I'd rather spend that money on the Rizoma fender eliminator.

Its so amazing how we all see things different.

I pulled up the Rizomo kit and cant stand it... it looks so big and hangs down almost to where the stock fender goes.  I want my plate tucked and out of the way.  The Ermax one is interesting.  It tries to work with the parts that are there as well as the stock location of the key and servo.

Like the OEM Ducati fender eliminator, it was designed for Euro plates in mind. They have the extra long plates. All you need to do it cut the plate bracket down for state side use.  Wink

The rizoma fender eliminator does not hang down to the OEM spot.  It comes with the US Spec and the Euro Spec plate holders.  Put on the US Spec plate holder and it hangs just below the tail light.

It sits more flush than any other eliminator I've messed with to include the DP and the CW kits.

Well there you have it. I was wrong. The Rizoma comes with both plate holders (unlike the OEM one that needs cutting).  waytogo

I might ditch my CW kit. I don't like it.

I wrote this on another forum.  It might help.

Well I've given up on the DP kit. Someone asked me my opinion on the kits I've messed around with and here was my response if anyone cares.

Install of the CW kit:
The CW kit looks like crap IMO. After I blasted it with rustoleum outdoor textured black paint it looked 'okay' but out of place on a $16K motorcycle. It did the job for a few weeks until the Rizoma was installed. The install wasn't difficult at all and did not require removal or modification of the servo (as long as you order the 1100 kit directly from CW). A lot of people have gotten their CW kits from Ebay, which are actually 696 kits and require relocation of the servo.

Install of the Rizoma kit:
The Rizoma kit is expensive! The Rizoma kit is very high quality though. It looks better than OEM in my opinion. Install is pretty straight forward although it does present a few problems the CW doesn't have. Routing the wiring is kind of a pain with the Rizoma kit as it sits more flush to the undertail and therefore has less room to store the wiring harness and seat cable lock. It can be done but it's a pain and involves a lot of trial and error. Finished product is very very nice.

The DP kit:
The DP kit is on par with the Rizoma kit in terms of price, but not quality IMO. The DP kit is predominantly plastic while the Rizoma kit is billet painted metal. The only reason I attempted the install of the DP kit is because it's DP and if I ever decided to trade it in, the dealership would likely rather have the DP kit on than an 'outside' manufacturer. The DP kit instructions are crap. The photos that come with the install look like black and white blobs. I have no idea what they are illustrating. Having done a fender eliminator install with two other manufacturers already, I thought I could wing it. Not so. The parts don't look like they fit together at all and I'm guessing install will result in a lot of rattling while riding. From what other persons have said, I would likely need to find rubber washers from Home Depot and do more trial and error. In addition, the metal license plate frame is designed for Euro spec plates and requires the drilling of additional holes and the cutting of excess portions to fit the US spec plates. I said screw it halfway through the attempted install and put the Rizoma kit back on. I will likely just give the kit to the dealer if I ever trade the bike in and let them install the kit.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the Rizoma kit. High quality kit and in terms of installation ease it's somewhere between the CW kit and the DP kit. Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help.

I don't see the Rizoma kit being any more difficult to install than the CW kit. The CW took lots of trial and error on my part. I guess I didn't get some of the things they were asking for. The instructions were crap.

Speaking of the Rizoma, does it require you to re-use any factory hardware? When I ditched my rear fender, I tossed a lot of stuff out. I have my fingers crossed that the Rizoma kit has all the nuts and bolts I need.

If you thought the CW instructions were crap (as I did) then you don't want to see the DP kit instructions.

I don't recall using any existing OEM hardware for the Rizoma fender eliminator off hand.

i still think the R&G is the best looking, but LighTech, I think, has one out as well. i had seen this french one a while ago adn thought at least they had spend more time working on style and getting it to match the roundness and lights.

OK, I was mistaken. This looks completely different than what I saw when I pulled this up.  What I saw was this:
http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1543&osCsid=egbmisbwdrw

And that looks ugly.  What you have looks right.  Really good.

I just ordered that same clutch cover. I think I'm going with that, the white clutch plate and red clutch screws (down the road).

If you follow the link to PJ's parts and look at the bottom photo labeled "F", the lower right hand plate bracket is the US spec.  I tossed the other two plate brackets that came with the kit.

I was *just* about to post about this kit when I found this thread...

A link to the manufacturer's site is here: http://www.ermax.fr/modele-MONSTER_696_1100_1100_s-1878.html

I uninstalled the CW kit that came on my used 696 and replaced it with the stock bits. It *looked* better without the tail but *functioned* better with it. I had gravel and sand pinging off the back of my helmet all the time without it. The lock being relocated to directly under the seat between the mufflers is a design flaw, too, IMO. If I didn't have CF Termis I would've burnt my hand several times trying to get to the lock. I would really only consider kits that leave the lock on the side.

One thing to keep in mind about the Ermax kit is that while it's pictured both on the site and in the eBay auctions in white, it's available in metallic grey, black, and red. The auction is actually for a black one. Perhaps it's for "euro" plates, but it appears designed to use only the top two screws and does not have legs that stick down as on the DP kit. It's also worth keeping in mind that it's supplied with the indicators shown.

Thus far my favorite kit is the DP one, because it preserves some actual rear fender function. Following that, the Rizoma and R&G ones seem nice if you want no fender at all, trailed by the Ermax kit. The CW is last in my estimation because it's so spartan and has the lock in a place that's so hard to reach.
