The EfficientDynamics is a 2+2 four-door hybrid that combines M Series performance with better fuel efficiency and less emissions than you see in many compacts. BMW performs this magic by marrying its ActiveHybrid technology with an extremely economical engine and excellent aerodynamics. The result is a concept car with a top speed governed at 155 mph and a zero-to-62 acceleration time of 4.8 seconds. More impressive, the car gets 62.2 mpg and emits a Prius-like 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

first thought....wonder how huge the price tag will be.
second thought......if Bmw can do this, and make it look great...why again is the prius so make the beast with two backsin ugly?

comparing a concept to a production car is like apples and oranges.

a better comparison would be the toyota ft-hs:

or the toyota volta:

but that doesn't look that great....in fact i'd say it's on par with the prius, it just looks more aggressive

whatever... bmw tried to make a good looking car with their "concept".
the prius is aimed at all the former hippies who feel angst about using cars.
intentionally ugly to remind them of what bad people they are, and why they paid a premium for it.

Screw the electric car, I want an alternative power plant that's fun to play with on many levels.

Nuclear?

In many ways, and electric car done right could be more fun than a gasoline...

Nuclear works for me  [evil]

I don't see how an electric car can be fun to play with.  I don't mean speed or handling, I mean more tuning and tweaking.  Add batteries, increase amps, change the motor?

wait, so you think you'll be able to tweak a nuclear power plant but don't even know how to wind your own electric motor?
