3rd eye, or something like that. From a bicycle store, $15 and works great. Save the $$$ for tires.

my bike came with a 2" CRG dental mirror which I really didn't care for, I took it off and put napoleons on both ends, I love them, they work well, have great glass and cost about $40 each.
I too have the napoleons and love them. I tried Monstrack Mirrors (look great, not curved so the view wasn't much), the tiny, 2" CRG (completely useless), mickey mouse mirrors (stock) and some stock ones from a newer monster. The napoleons were easily the most functional of the entire batch. No vibration at speed, clear and wide view.

I just looked these up and wonder how you mounted them?
They come with 2 pieces of "stalk". I only used the piece that puts the mirror "up" not the one that puts it further "out". Adjusted them, tightened them up, and they're good all the way up to my bikes top speed.

I run these also, but am planning on switching to Rizoma Reverse Retros when I get the chance.

How do you mount your napoleons? do you have the Napoleons down and in or up? I've been considering them just because of the price and the size of the actual mirros, but I'd want it down (liek Industrialgirl's) and I'm not sure of it'll still actually work as mirros then...

I had them up and in. Then moved them to down and in and now have them up and out.
For the best visibility, wide side up and out is the way to go. They have a bit more curve and a slightly wider view that way. When I had them mounted in (which I preferred the look of) I got a wider view of my elbows and a narrower view of the road. Also when they were mounted up and in the interfered with my brake a clutch lever a tiny bit. Nothing to worry about, but it wasn't ideal. That wouldn't be a problem if they were mounted down and in, however.

I like the Napoleons because they're so durable. I've had the bike down with them on twice and while they do mar up, as long as you can get the mounting bolt out, it's a typical bolt that you can find at the hardware store to get you running again. They're also very adjustable. Like erik and industrialgrl I've tried them both up and down. Down was convenient since there's almost no way to accidentally bump them but visibility was short. I've settled on up and diagonal in. Gives me clearance to split but I can still see plenty behind me. I also like the weight to them. They weigh more than any bar end so they help with vibrations a lot.

garage space is at a premium, so I'd prefer to mount them down and in -- would thi give me more or less visibility over the stock mickey mouse ears?

Way back when I had Napoleans mounted down. I thought the visibility sucked...much better when mounted up. In just makes it worse.
I'm bias though...I think Napoleans look terrible.

mounted up, it'll smack into my car's mirrors in the garage, so it'll have to be down.
If the visibility on the Napoleans when mounted down suck, I'd prob go with the CRGs or the Triumph Rizomas (whichever will work better)...

i bought this set of mirrors on ebay for about $20 and i'm very happy with them. i can see a lot better than with the stock ugly-looking mirrors. these mirrors are about 3 inches wide and have convex glass which makes a lot easier to see. they don't look as cool as the rizomas but you can't beat the price and the quality is not bad at all.

See, that's the great thing about Napoleons. Adjust them for up and out and when you get home, just flip them down. As long as you grab it by the stalk you won't screw up your adjustment.

CRG Blindsight 2" mirror. Works great for its size. Hard to distinguish
from a distance, but serves it's basic purpose and is about as minimal as you can get without riding without.

Does anyone have any experience with teh Obeon Streetfighters? They seem to be the last expensive of the brand name jobbies....
Also, has anyone used the Triumph ripoff of the Rizomas?
I put a pair of the Oberon Streetfighters on my, well, Streetfighter. They're quite a bit smaller than the CRGs, and the glass is much flatter. The net effect of those two things is you have a very limited field of view. Plus they're not adjustable while on the bike - basically you use a couple of big set screws to get them in place, and there they stay.
Long story short, I pulled the CRGs off my Monster and the Oberons are sitting on my bench.
