Florida had a meltdown on Alabama is really good.

Florida's meltdown will be like the Buckeye's in the Rose Bowl.

Don't kid yourself. Florida didn't have a meltdown (other than Timmy, after the game...pussy), They got stomped like a Narc at a biker rally.  :D

Man, does anyone else feel that TCU and Boise got screwed?

They obviously both deserved to be in but what does having them play eachother tell us?  If the BCS wants to say they get it right every year these teams need to be playing BCS conference teams to see if they belong in a NC game at some point.  Really just seems like a cop out to me.

I agree. I was making the same argument with my wife today, if we want to see how good they are, make them play the other leagues... don't make them play each other... just stupid... oh well.

Plus...they played in a bowl last year...TCU whooped them.  :-\

+1 on Boise St-TCU.

Cincinnati-Florida will be interesting.

The Orange Bowl is a yawn....

I just a saw a NY Times article which pointed out some of the reasons college football is avoiding a playoff system:

First you say Ohio State is one of the better teams of the BCS era...then you say the BCS is flawed...  [laugh]

I will grant you that Ohio State HAS indeed been the best team in the Big Ten during the Tressel years. The guy makes me angry because he has never played a minute of football in his life but still manages to be a great football coach.

But you also have an almost impossible chore trying to convince me or most anyone for that matter that, historically, Michigan is not one of if not THE premier college football programs of all time. Their all time overall record speaks for itself.

One of the other things that absolutely annoys the living shit out of me is Ohio State fans. Last year, Randy and I were in downtown Denver to watch the game (UofM vs OSU) and after the game were walking past the OSU bar. I said good job to some of the guys that were standing by the street in front of the OSU bar and instead of saying thanks, the make the beast with two backswads started running heir mouths like they had just left the field.
On the way back, there was an OSU fan on his hands and knees making kissy faces with a dog and he started running his mouth too. Randy and I just laughed to each other and found it amusing that while we had lost, at least we weren't making out with a dog on a public street.

I won't discount the success that OSU has had...what I will discount is that when the pressure is on and when faced with a deserving National Championship contending team, OSU crumbles. Tressel is too conservative when it is on the line and he suffers for it by blowing games that could be won.

Absolute crap.  It worked out this year that the top ten teams are playing each other. 1-2, 7-8 and 9-10 are all matched up.  Why couldn't they play 3-4 and 5-6?  Cinci-TCU and Boise-FL would have been better games to watch and would have given both teams the opportunity to show their stuff.  Now either way people will just say they played another 2nd tier team.  Just crap.

And, to be totally frank, TCU should be in the NC game.  Texas got owned up and down the field by a Nebraska team that doesn't have an offense.  If not for the two penalties at the end, no way do they win.  McCoy and Tebow better not win the Heisman.  Great players, but not their year at all.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit that there are some bad OSU fans but I've been treated like shit by Michigan fans in the late 90's too.  It works both ways.

I also think your taking me wrong.  I love to see Michigan win, in fact it pains me that they are this bad recently.  The OSU/M game should be the biggest game of the year in the Big Ten every year.

Big Ten finally got some favorable bowl matchups this year.  Only the Michigan State/Texas Tech one is a for sure loss.

Ohio State fans, as a whole, are classless.

I think Notre Dame fans are the best, but hate the program

+1 Much more interesting match-ups.

An interesting tidbit from the NYT article:

While Texas' best win came against No. 20 Nebraska, Cincinnati had victories at No. 16 Oregon State and at No. 17 Pittsburgh. T.C.U. torched No. 15 Brigham Young and No. 23 Utah and should get credit for scheduling games at Clemson and Virginia.

Boise State beat No. 7 Oregon, meaning that three other undefeated teams can claim better wins than Texas.

Also stated in the article...it's all about the money...particularly the television revenues that big school match-ups create.  :-\

No...I thought the score was more lopsided. That's not whooped at all.
