I believe he was referring to the tendency for the plastic tanks to stretch. Ducati is replacing some of them under warranty, but to have to get a new one back to where yours is now would suck.

Now a bigger tank, I think we all wish.

I wonder if the fuel in Europe affects the plastic tanks like our ethanol fuel does?

I'm curious, are the replaced plastic tanks of new design?  Hopefully a material resistant to warping.  My tank was replaced under warranty about 4 months ago.

Nope. At least not to my knowledge.

Are you all kidding me? Shocked  This is a joke, is it? Does the tank stretch??? And in what way? In length or width? OMG.

In the beginning of my moddingcrazyness I thought the tank looked bigger because I made everything else around it smaller....  laughingdp

This is a common problem in the US where the gas contains ethanol. Ducati replace tanks under warranty since it's a safety issue. As long as we keep our gas without ethanol, we're fine in Europe. Not to worry, Celli.

Hi Gus Duc,

I'm interested in a bigger tank, but I'm not sure yet.
But what new tank do you mean?

Celli

The stock plastic tanks grow but unfortunately your fuel capacity doesn't increase...... they just get wavy looking & the latch becomes close & closer to the ignition & pretty soon your steering lock won't work.

Take a look at this thread:http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=25074.0
