i just demo'd the MTS 1100 S. Wonderful motorcycle, it was almost 'too' easy to ride. I had a great time. The look itself has grown on me. If I had some cash, I'd probably get one. I would not, even with the money, purchase the picture shown here, though.

It's missing 1 crucial "new" Ducati design element...
A cast aluminum sub-frame.

Ducati please do something with that beak.
For the rest of the bike there is so much curvy plastic it's starting to like a cheap Chinese scooter.
The the new super bike series is beautiful but please stop trying to morph it into other products
I think they made a mistake to let Terblanche go

Interestingly, its not a 'subframe' in the typical sense of the word. As I look at the 696, the 'subframe' seems to be connected behind the 'main frame' at the rear engine mount bolt. Thus, its part of the frame-frame, just in two pieces. Perhaps its still a subframe because it is a disconnect-able element of the frame, and it does not include the steering stem / headstock area, but its more than the old superbike subframes, or the 'subframe' that was the headlight brackets on various bikes as well. (An example is the Supersport "race" front subframe, which replaced the headlight bracket and was much lighter - one was just on eBay recently).

very true. the two parts of the frame cross at the front engine mount and the front part ends at a second cross point. the rear engine mount is attached only to the rear frame. in fact it's almost easier to remove the front part of the frame than the rear.

That's because the new bike is reportedly powered by the water-cooled 10/1198 motor.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

They must have used invisible ink when writing UGLY all over it. Kind of makes the old one look purdy.

haha, i hadn't really noticed it in other pictures. behind the times, i know. I'm still thoroughly enjoying and learning about the nuances and changes of the 900 2v motor. (though i did recently ride an 1100 ds. wow.)
