It shouldn't be a cc exception for a mfg, it should be for all 2 cylinder engine configurations versus 4...

But, that isn't the worst.  The whole Buell RR thing is what put them and AMA on the hot seat - letting AMA teams use a non-street legal/available "model" that just came about mid season.

Heehee, always the minority, I recently saw a 1125CR and was pretty impressed. They're not nearly as hideous in person as in pics. I'd take one for the stable without question.

As for the outsourcing of the engine, gee, I believe lowly Aprilia also is known to have resorted to Rotax power.....

Well, technically Buell always outsourced his engine's.  I would put one in the stable as well.

I got to demo the Buell 1125CR a few weeks ago, much better than I expected.  Power strong, handling a little nervous and the ergos a little cramped.  It would make a good race bike but not a bike for street riding in my opinion.  Really wanting to demo the Streetfighter soon, got to set on one at the dealer last week seems to be a nice bike.

Reading the conclusions, pretty much every one of them said "I'd get the Buell because its cheaper, but the bike I REALLY want is the Streetfighter."
