2007 Ducati 999S "Team USA"

« on: September 12, 2009, 04:55:30 PM »

Hey peeps,

Haven't been on the board in over a year i think... just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Andre is still in Belgium, 1 masters already and working on another one... then possibly back to the US for a Phd.  His back seems to have recovered enough to where he keeps thinking about going back to motorcycles.  Hope he doesn't... tired of the hospital stuff. Hahaha

I am still too busy with work (busier than ever since the recession hit and all CPA firms have let go of people)... but have my CPA. So, yay!!!  chug

Unfortunately, a series of events and family issues have kept me from fixing the bike and getting back on it since that low-side at Cresson. I might end-up putting it up for sale (silly to pay insurance and monthly payments on something i have not ridden in about a year).  One day I will be able to get back at it I hope...

How are things with you guys?  I assume all the old faces are still around.

Gus.

Gus,

Shit, I thought you were dead or something! laughingdp It's been funny that Andre posts from Belgium occasionally and we never hear from you! I know that family and home ownership can be overwhelming but damn, glad to see and hear you are still alive!! And yes, this old face is still around. Crippled and falling apart but still riding and trying to go fast! waytogo [moto] drink

Brian/fastwin

PS  tell your wayward brother to chime in with his inside Europe race reports more often than he does! You guys take care! Stay in touch.

Hey Brian!

Yeah, it was weird that Andre had more time to chime in from overseas than me from here... My life was a bit crazy this last year.

Hey, as long as we can still throw a leg over the bike, the crippled and falling apart is just an inconvenience.  Grin

Talked to Andre today and he said he now has a channel that seems to be nothing but motorcycle racing (even obscure stuff like the French superbikes or some nonsense like that), so I am sure he will have plenty of stuff.  laughingdp

I plan on being around the board now that i am getting my schedule a bit under control.  So maybe I will catch up with you guys sometime in the near future.

I have gotten on his website (Andre's) and looked at some of his photos and they are very good. Very impressive work. He must have large cranial capacities to study for a PH D though. My brain had only enough room for undergrad.  bang head

How about "familiar young faces" ?  Grin

I plan on being a regular again.  Just afraid the motorcycle cravings will get stronger.
