Thanks for all the feedback.  Now I know "knowing is half of the battle".   laughingdp

LOL, that's what I was going for. 

The bike was running just fine with it disconnected.  It even registered temperature.  Weird...  I wonder if there is any other temperature sensors and the reading is the average or the highest temperature.

oil screen filter bolt = dash temp display
cam cover sensor = ECU input (temp)
