A Most Magnificent Monster

Waving the V-sign with the back of the hand facing the recipient is my favorite way of cursing at someone...most folks have no idea I'm tellin 'em to fook off.

As for and Italian version of a WTF hand signal:  bring the points of your fingers together, point them upwards and move the hand up and down.  And the always popular opposite hand in the crook of your arm...you can do that and still keep the arm hand on the bars.

Holy crap !!!

When do we do the Macarena?

I think I'll go with shootin' the bird at the guys, & the shocker at the girls from here on out.

Seems like as long as we acknowledge each other as riders we're good ta' go!

This damn thread is exhausting.

I've noticed lately that riders have been more friendly as far as a wave is concerned.

There for a while there wasn't much waving being reciprocated.

Now especially among the H-D riders w, their women hangin' on, the " girls " seem to be the designated wavers.

It seems I always get a wave from the single riders , even the groups have been friendlier.

Unless I'm hard on it and hangin' on for all I got , I'll instigate at least a raised 4 fingers on my clutch hand while still maintaining control w, my thumb.

A couple of issues ago , Mike Seate ,a contributing writer for one of the popular Motorcycle Mags had an article about how he's nobody's friend while riding so he doesn't wave or wave back while riding.

He said he will do his friendly things when he's not behind the bars.

Maybe it has more to do with the fact that he was riding a certain Ducati w, very low clip ons and being in a very tucked position.

Like a PS1000 type.

I've noticed that and that sucks.  Sometimes they are even the designated hand signals too (but that's a whole other thread).  Personally, I prefer they both "wave" and the driver give the signals.

Any wave you do just makes your other hand numb sooner.
If you can do the sprinkler your steering dampener is turned up to far.

uhh.....on point number 1... No? Shouldn't be putting that much weight on your hands...
Point number 2.... if its a fairly straight road, you should be able to let go of the bars, steer with your knees on the tank enough to stay in your lane, and do the ymca until you've slowed down too much. even if your bike is damperless. if have to constantly be putting in some steering input to keep the bike from turning, then either you are riding on the worlds worst pothole laden rodes, or there's a mechanical problem.

personally, i do the hand below the bar, two finger wave, though often more like the "Wooderson greeting" (see also: opening scene of role models) - meaning fingers together than the peace sign. If I think somebody is ridiculous, i'll do the awkward hand up, rapid arm movement, floppy hand wave. Just to try to embarass them.

and hand patting head for "heads up" be it really slow traffic around a bend, animals, police, children (see animals), etc. The foot-off looks more like stretching to me on the street, there is too few track riders to effectively communicate a 'foot-off'.
