After a brief scare by the witch-doctor, I don't think I have appendicitis.

I'm in!

Dude, it's only training. You should totally rock the scooter. What can they do, fire you for showing up on a cute lil' scoot?

I've been rocking the Supersport. But I have to drop Anne off at the airport Thurs morning so I'll be in the cage.

A surprisingly large crowd for a cold night, but still fun.  We got cake.  Mmmmm....cake.

....And I nearly got killed.  I was coming off the sidewalk to get onto Valencia heading towards Market when I saw a couple of cars coming.  I probably could have pulled out really fast and made it in front of them, but decided against it.  One car went by and the other immediately behind him was small pickup truck.  There was a gap after those two, so I pulled out behind the truck when he suddenly pulled over to the right curb.  He didn't signal and I figured he saw a parking spot in front of Z that he wanted.  I began to go around him on the left when he decided to make his pull-over a u-turn.   Shocked  There are cars behind me, this guy's making a u-turn, and there's oncoming traffic.  Normally I'd have a better escape plan figured out, but because I'd just entered the road, I wasn't quite prepared for the situation.  It was also dark.  I was literally thinking that perhaps I should try to jump off my bike onto his hood to avoid crushing my right leg.  I decided to go for the super-swerve instead, and it worked.  I went around his nose as he was making his u-turn barely staying in the Market-bound lanes.  He stopped in the middle of the road when he saw me.  The cars behind me had to stop and I think a bicycle was cut off by his little stunt too.  ...never had occurred to me that someone would do that right there.  I shouldda known something was up when he failed to signal, but I didn't want to stop since there were cars behind me.  Next time I'm either waiting for all the idiots to pass or I'm going to gun it and get in front of all of them!

Let's just say that I'm real glad that I didn't have that beer!   laughingdp  And a little foresight might have spared me the need to practice my emergency swerving technique.  Live and learn!

Dang girl, glad you saved it!

Never misunderestimate the capacity of drivers to do dick moves.  The pull off to the right then flip a u-turn is one of my personal faves.

Jez, H.
My thinking is if you had the beer you would have left 10 minutes later and none of this would have happen.
But then I'm one to fit a beer into the scenario whenever possible.

Nope, not me, i actually didn't speak to a single soul. Not enough pints to go introduce myself. Seemed like a large group gathered around a few tables.
Seems that when the crowd is gathered around the bikes it makes for an easy ice-breaker. Chill spot, that bar, and i will be out again.
The truth is, i was starting to come down with this nasty cold(but forced myself to stop by), so i weathered to pints and split.

Damn, man, you should have said "hello". We really are a friendly bunch and like to see new folks at the Z. (We've already heard all the stories/lies from the old folks...)
