Hi,

I hope that everyone is going well.  The weather here in OZ is getting much warmer (I am in Tasmania) so have been out quite a bit lately.  But wanted to share my new boots with you.  They are SIDI lei ladies and being someone with a smallish foot was happy not to need the smallest that they make.  They are very comfy and I am very Happy with them.  Not sure how long they have been around.

Sidi is a great company.  I sport the mens version of your boots.  They took some time getting use to but I dont think I will own any other boot.

Enjoy them!

Looking good!   waytogo

I also have the men's version.

The lei's must be fairly new, don't remember seeing them in the catalogue when I ordered my vertigo's last spring.

hey bagdalbetty by your post i take it that you are ok, had one of those oooops too but not at speed.  Had to put my foot down pretty hard, there is 8ks of dirt road between our house and that nice black stuff, it has been very dry so a bit slippery and well i kind of broke a little late turning in our driveway and found the front wheel think it should slip around so a quick dab with the foot and a bit of throttle and all good, so nice that there was no pressure on my ankle at all  -  have found that they squeek A LOT (had a young boy just watch my boots as i walked past the other day LOL!!) any suggestions on how to stop that would be greatly appreciated. waytogo

Yes!  The squeak! (I have these boots too.) How to be rid of that besides spraying WD40 into the cracks and crevices of the boot – that can't be good or is it?

Well ........being over 40 and all I have noticed a dryness so sometimes a bit of lubricant works wonders........ laughingdp
Not so sure about WD 40 though........... cheeky
Yes I got hurt when I had my oooops..........hands,foot,leg,hip,lower back. All in it took 6 months to heal and nothing was broken. Had a cast on my hand for nearly 6 months to immobilize it.........I had some torn up tendons from my thumb all the way back to my elbow. Seems that when you crash going really fast and slam into a mud bank after going across the oncoming lane and through the ditch if you dont let go of the clip ons you about rip your thumbs off. I rode home.I was so cold i could not feel my injuries until I defrosted and then............wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Boots.
Try a little bit of shoe polish for the leather bits just rub it in, I'd keep away from chemicals that are petroleum based if your boots are leather .
The squeek will go away if you just ride a bunch and wear them for a couple or three days, gotta break them in. Glad you did not dump your bike on the gravel............ always be careful on that and always avoid using the front brake on gravel. You'll part company with your bike if you lock up the front end.
When I lived on the farm many moons ago if I knew I was going to miss the turn into the driveway I'd just sail on past and turn around. No sense in getting hurt.
Oohhh I remember once I rode my racebike past the farm.........My ex asked me how fast I was going. I just said "9000 rpm in 6th"......... "why are you going 150+ past the farm?" was the reply.......
Well if I gotta explain honey..............
And yes, I missed the driveway..........by about 3/4 of a mile!
Have a happy day!

laughingdp Badgalbetty, looks like the accident didn't damage your sense of humour laughingdp, it is amazing what we can do with a large amount of adrenalin running through our bodies! (had a tree fall on me once on the mountain bike and managed to ride to my friends van, she drove me home but by the time we got there,  movement was not so good).  Thanks too stella, not sure about the WD40, the boots are some synthetic stuff and the squeak seems to be where the hard plastic bits move, have worn the boots quite a bit though and it seems to make no difference.  Oh well if i find a cure I will post it here.

Cheers
Happy Rides

Check your helmet box or bag for that little bottle of lubricant that comes with.  I have used that on boots with good effect.

Cheers Little Monkey Toes, did not get any lubricant with my helmet but think that i will try some armour oil it is safe on all car interiors so hoping that it is ok on the synthetics, will try it out soon and let you know how i get on. Good uck qwack as apart from the squeak they are awesome. waytogo

Hi, update on the boots is I had some silicon lube that came with a map bag so put that it all the areas that were squeeking and now no more squeek, squeek, squeek, squeek!! very happy, can now walk around the coffee shops without being looked at [moto].

Well it is starting to cool down here in Tasmania not too much yet just means that the layering has begun and that the heated hand grips make me smile.  Almost orderd rizoma rearset this week but my dog was bitten by something (quoll or possum we think) and well she now looks like she stuck her nose in a fire - on 3 weeks of antibiotics and then we get to see how she is going so keeping my $$$$$ until we know she is not going to be needing more treatment. (poor little fur kid)

Happy rides everyone.

Yeah tassie is alright we have lots of corners and the weather is not as bad as most think (OOPS yes it is the roads are straight and the weather is horrible  cheeky)  Fur kid is healing really well so I have just ordered my rearset so very excited!! Fur kid getting better and rearset will be on its way sometime soon (I hope).
