I still frequent the katrider.com forums, as do many others who have moved on from their Katanas. The banter is upbeat and the community is very tight, it's very much like DMF actually. Unfortunately, one of the most informative, helpful, insightful, active members of KR died Sunday night in an accident on his ZX-14.

I post this here so not only to ask that you include this man in your thoughts and/or prayers, but also because it can be very easy to think that these things will never happen to you or someone you know. Here we have one of the best guys from one of the best communities in motorcycling... taken from us instantly. Stay safe out there. Pegs down for Marc.  :'(

Thanks for posting this up over here Shifty. I also made my way from the Katriders forum over to this one after I sold my Pre-Kat 600. I still stop in there just about every day to see what's up in the Lounge and Parking Lot. It's a great group of people and Marc was one of the most stand up guys on that forum. He helped me out numerous times when I was having trouble working on my bike. I never even meet the guy and I was a bit torn up when I heard the news. Pegs are already down on the S2R. RIP Marc we will miss you.

It's pretty wild to think about all the people Marc has reached out to in the 'cycling community. There are a ton of active and formerly active members on KR... I think he helped most every single one at some point, either directly with a reply to a thread, or with one of his informative write-ups. Impossible to fill the void left by this guy.  Undecided

A good friend of mine was lucky enough to hit a deer and live to tell the tale.

According to his friend, who was riding behind him, he never saw the damned thing coming. He just accelerated into the turn. He hit the deer broadside. He went over the bars, breaking his thumbs. He landed on his butt. Thankfully the most severe damage to him was rash up his back and forearms from his jacket "riding up."

Pegs down for Marc. Let us remember him as he'd like to be thought of.  bow down
