 [moto]

A quick ride over to Tortilla Flat on Saturday, have a hamburger, and then head back.

(In honor of our new members, including Duci09 whose thread I hijacked pretty badly)

Anyone else want to go?

I was thinking ...
- 8:30am
- Meet at Signal Butte & Southern

The thing in Scottsdale will probably be fun, but I have plans later that afternoon. And it doesn't sound like there's any organized "let's meet down there" for that event.

If you want to go with me on Saturday and then hook up with Dietrich later, that would work and I'll still plan on going. Otherwise, we could always do Tortilla Flat some other time. Like in a week or two.

And if that's the case. I might just take a long lunch and go down there tomorrow or Friday. I'm just in the mood for that road.

Update:

I'm still planning on going on Saturday.

We're kicking around the idea of leaving earlier than what was previously posted (which was 10am).

Maybe even 8:00am.

Anyone else more interested if we leave earlier?

That was a lot of fun, but like always, on the way out I got stuck behind a train of cars following a bus.  Roll Eyes

This is one of the main reasons we leave early for rides.

This is one of the main reasons we leave early for rides.

I think any time on Saturday or Sunday is going to be like that.

The plan was to get to Tortilla Flat and eat there, so we really couldn't have gone any earlier.

We have often gone on a Sunday, earlier than 7 and had clear roads for the most part.  Make a couple laps of the top section, then eat.  Works a treat!   bacon  I'll say that I consider TTF a fairly technical ride if the speeds get up though, with varying road conditions, so use caution if you don't know the road (as always).

+1 about the road.

There are several blind turns that are easy to miscalculate -- as far as judging the apex, etc.

It's a great road, though, and my favorite east-valley getaway.
