This is the same forum where the guy poured 2 bottles of NOS energy drink into his gas tank thinking it was a fuel additive. Maybe dealers need to start giving an IQ test to potential gixxer buyers.

what impresses me is that he just cut off his fingers and the first thing he does is grab his camera and starts snapping pics.

No trying to control blood loss or pain just snapping pictures.

Ugh. I feel really bad for that guy. It's incredibly easy to hurt yourself working on a bike (or cars for that matter).
I'm just glad there wasn't a ladder involved...

Also, who the hell uses WD40 on a chain? The chain may have been in self-defense mode...

Years of being dumb has built up his tolerance for pain.  Not to mention his bravery (or was it ignorance) that constantly got him in trouble.  I do feel bad for him though...  Sounds like life hasn't been treating him that well.

The guy's posts are written well enough to assume he would be smart enough to not do this to himself. It may be that GSXR riders are the absolute dumbest motorcyclists in the universe. Too bad; they're great bikes and it's sad to be associated with stupidity. I always thought it was a given to not ever work on a machine when it is running. And he's in the process of becoming a COP Huh? LOL what an idiot. I read something somewhere about the aptitude tests for potential police officers. The gist was that they look for stupidity since intelligent people would get bored with the job too easily. Perhaps there is some truth to that.

I showed people at work the picture and they didn't see anything wrong with the WD40, that was the first flag I saw.

Well, now he is going to have to find some one that will sell him a different size riding glove for each hand.

I suppose these things just happen.

What's wrong with using WD40 to clean the chain? I don't use that for lube, but it's perfectly fine for cleaning...

This was a heated topic sometime ago, but some people believe it dries out the o-rings if I remember correctly. It went back and forth, some said kerosene, some WD40, and some clean with the wax. Just a bunch of different preferences.

WD-40 is pretty much kerosene with an aerosol delivery system.

Ummmm, a couple things he's said are a bit off. He said he's on Oxycodone AND Oxycontin. That's a no-no so I call bullshit. Another thing, he said he's wearing "a plaster mitten". Why? there's nothing to cast in place. He broke the distal parts of his fingers off. No reason to put a cast on if there's no broken bone to splint in place.
