Just rode through 4 miles of newborn asphalt and the opaque debris cloud that comes with it. My tires are paved...

Last time it was fresh tar snakes. Why the hell would they patch up a road right before they repaved the whole thing?

Took hours in the garage with a putty knife and a can of goof-off. Here we go again... bang head

You're obviously not in Oklahoma where we grow "pot holes" in the road for fun!  Granted they are starting to fix them but I'd have to say that 98% of them are still terrible and they forgot the curves!!

Hopefully you can scrape your tires, having just gotten new ones myself I can totally feel your pain....

then it got gradually stickier until I saw the smoking trucks ahead and looked down at my tire and it was too late. Boiling frog syndrome...

I'm surprised they let you drive on it that fast. I've been involved with quite a few paving jobs, and have never seen traffic allowed on asphalt early enough that it would stick to tires. Maybe different DOTs do things differently, but that sounds stupid.  Huh?

A friend of mine jokingly speculated that tar snakes are put in as "speed bumps" for motorcycles. Tongue
P., I hate tar snakes. Some days they are like riding on strips of ice !

Other days when riding into the Sun  with Polarized Sunglasses on they look like a green and blue light show all over the road.

On a cloudy day they are very slippery. Never quite know how to take them at speed.

You should try riding with them caked on your tires. laughingdp

It's a surprisingly scary feeling when turning in, and that's just from the changed shape of the tires.

I'll take some photos soon...
