A Most Magnificent Monster

« on: September 26, 2009, 02:05:25 PM »

My Monster (I have named it "Mo") and I have finally bonded.  I purchased my bike this past September 11th and left it with Nick at VDS for valves and belts.  He delivered it to me on the 15th and in the meantime, I had ordered new chain and sprockets, purchased oil and filter, some special tools, and a few other odds and ends.  Finally, today, I had time to work on it and perform the tasks I wanted to do myself.  The temperature in my garage was close to 100° (yeah, it's dry...so what?) and it peaked higher at times when I cursed at something, but I got everything done that I wanted to do today.  Thanks to Colin748916, I was able to torque the necessary bolts to spec since I have not received the manual I ordered last week.

Here's a pic of Mo and me.  Note custom work stand.  We're going to go for a ride when it cools down this evening.

Nice.

With those glasses you kind of remind me of the dad from "Malcom in the Middle".

Is that the 800? I can email u the workshop manual.  It is a big file though.
Has all of the torque specs you'll ever need for that bike.

My bad.
