I've seen 690 Duke in person and sat on it.  It definitely felt lighter than any other street bike I've sat on.  I thought it looked attractive in white.

Holy shit, that is an ugly bike.  It is so ugly it may be attractive in some strange way which is foreign to me.  If they aren't bringing it over this year maybe it is to clear out last year's inventory.  That is what happened to the Super Duke for 2009.

I've never seen a motorcycle with stack pipes.  Is it a diesel?

Good picture.  That is one of the angles I liked.  I'm normally so conservative with my motorcycle tastes.  But this bike is drawing me in.

That's the very KTM that I want badly. Pretty sure all it would take is one ride....

Now, picture it without those mirrors, that hideous chin spoiler, some pipes closer to the SMR and some BST wheels.

This isn't a Duke, but you get my drift.

I have one of these  Grin

Older, carburetted, vibrates a lot (especially compared to the new LC4 motors), but lightweight 50+hp singles on the street are a lot of fun and are super easy to throw around. I test rode a 690 duke once and it felt a lot like my 625 SMC but with a lower seat height and a whole lot smoother. We were part of a KTM demo train so I couldn't really give it too much without them looking Evil. It was fun, but not enough of a difference between my SMC to make me trade up/over to a 690 Duke. The pegs were in the same position, i.e. straight below your seat like a dirt bike, not back like a monster. I was hoping to ride a Super Duke on the test ride, but they were full up. Perhaps that affected my expectations on the 690 Duke.

You never were a fan of Spy Vs. Spy were you?  In my line of work it's a fitting appearance.

SM or SMR?

Either is a good score!

It's an SM.  Bike is an unsold '07 model with 20 (I put the last five on myself) miles on it.  Trying to get them down to $9500 OTD.
