Just saw this on Slashdot.

BUB Racing's Chris Carr Breaks Speed Record

And here's their page about the bike.

There you go.  You pulled the trigger Bubba.

I'm pretty damn sure I saw a Buell Blast go a buck thirty on the salt.

I went there a few years ago with a bike that could (and did run 194). and could only hit 138.2 on the salt (That's haulin' ass there).

If you haven't been there you can't imagine the suffering (you &) the bike goes through.

Our local boy, Dave Campos, running the Harley Sportster Iron heads (2), held the world speed record for years.

I have ridden with him many times (He rides a blown Boss Hoss...Imagine that, Big make the beast with two backsin' surprise. Probably hard to get your rocks off at this point) and have seen him run at Bonneville & can't imagine what it feels like.

The thread is "New motorcycle speed record"

No one asked "What does a motorcycle look like?"

If you have a problem with that, take it up with them.

Seeing that you did say that you don't really consider that a "bike".
What do you consider a bike to be?  Maybe you could start a new thread.

Two wheels is a good start.

Last time I checked, all you had to do is start walking toward the sand box.   laughingdp

But, back on topic would also work.

Or I'll just post my opinion and comment in the thread and you can post yours rather then look for an argument. I seriously can't believe you feel the need to start an argument about whether I think a 20' foot long fully enclosed streamliner is a bike or not. Obviously it qualifies for the record but IMFO it's not a "bike". Get over it.

Really?

Just stick to the topic.  Whats the big deal?  You're right. Someone posted something other than a red naked Ducati on the DMF.  But it's a cool story...And it's Chris Carr.   WTF?

AMA Regulations - (S) Streamliner Class
A "Streamliner" LSR motorcycle is defined as an enclosed two-wheeled vehicle (leaving a single track) with an unlimited wheelbase length. The driver must be protected by a roll bar or trellised structure, and separated from the engine compartment by a firewall.
