Yup. I also sometimes don't separate the compostable material from the regular trash as required by local ordinance, and occasionally get groceries in a plastic bag. <shrug>
Big differance between not being "green" and throwing trash out of your car window. I know you are smart enough to see the differance. |

My good friend was doing the "ride across asia thing" , while following a bus in India he noticed some bloke stick his head out the side of the bus. Next thing that hits him is a lentil curry shower  all through his helmet and riding gear in 100 degree heat with a days riding to his next destination. I still laugh everytime he tells me this story. |

I hate it when people litter. One night someone in front of throw their cigarette out the window and it hit the shield on my helmet. The initial shock aside, it looked very cool when the sparks flew.

Smokie the Bear needs an AK 47.  I love the way the burning embers light up hundreds of fires this time of year. Some day the whole planet will be paved and then we will be safe from forest fires. My parents house hasn't burned down in Idyllwild yet but they are pretty close to 243 and on the up hill side too. |

Got a lit Butt tossed at me tonight.
I was going to start a thread about it till I saw this. Man that pisses me off. I have friends who smoke and non of them smoke while driving let alone toss shit out there car.
that parking lot trash thing comes a close second into pissing me off.
Oh and people who go camping and fishing and don't pack the trash out they came in with.... WTF

I got hit once - years ago when I was a smoker myself. I got pretty mad at the guy but decided to pull over and make sure it wasn't burning me, my gear or my bike instead of going after them.
Other than that, I've had a few close calls. Mostly from passenger windows. I always want to grab cigarettes from people that are smoking and hanging them out the window - haven't done it yet.
On the topic of smokers... One thing that angers me more than this is riding past a car and getting a big whiff of pot from the driver toking on his bowl.

Has nothing to do with cigarettes being lit. It's make the beast with two backsing littering however you want to cut it. I won't tolerate it if I have an opportunity to have a say. I give peeps shit if I catch em. No body's ever bucked back hard enough to worry about. On two occasions, while on the bike, I've stopped and picked up garbage that had just been cast out of a car, chased the car down, and pitched it back into the offending car - one convertible (easy) and one open window. Pulled up next to a Pontiac full of partying young men and kicked in the door in after the cretins discharged a beer bottle out the car window that broke right in front of the front tire of my brand new Black and Gold 900 SS Bevel Drv. Ducai. That shit pissed me off. I think they got the picture - I hung around long enough to tell. Nobody should ever litter! Ever!. Please.  Take that shit home and put it in your own trash that you have to deal with. LA |
